Information on Use Eligibility The pass is provided only to a foreign travelerwho has a passport issued by a government other than that of Japan, and has the "Short-term Stay" stamp affixed onto their passport during immigration inspection in Japan, and is presented at the time of exchange or purchase. *When using automatic gates at the airport, please ask the attendants to have a stamp or seal affixed onto your passport. Pass validity period - Passes will be valid for five continuous days from the date of the beginning of use indicated on the day of the exchangeor purchase. Mt. Fuji-Shizuoka Area Tourist Pass Mini is valid for three continuous days. - You will not be able to change the date on which use begins once it is indicated on the pass. Customers purchasing outside of Japan Exchange period - Please exchange your MCO (exchange ticket) within three months of its issuance (including the date of issuance) andwithin the availability period. *Please note that the Alpine-Takayama-Matsumoto Area Tourist Pass has an expiry date. Exchange offices - See the back. *If you exchange your MCO outside the area in which your pass can be used, you will have to pay the fare for the trip to the area in which your pass will be valid separately. Exchange procedures - Exchange your MCO for the pass after you have entered Japan. You will not be able to board JR lines with your MCO. - With regard to the exchange, note that: (1) the MCO must be exchanged by the person whose name is on it; (2)you must bring the MCO and your passport; (3) you must fill in the exchange application form established by the exchange office; and (4) you can specify a date of your choice within one month of the pass's date of issuance (including the date of issuance) to begin use. Points to note during use - Any transportation provider may change its holidays and operating hours without notice. In some transport facilities, the number of operations may be small. Please see the website of each transport provider for more information. - To customers using Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass You will need to make an advanced reservation for some buses between Takayama, Shirakawa-go and Kanazawa (Shirakawa-go/Kanazawa Line). Book by yourself or through the store where you purchased your MCO. Inquire at the following bus reservation centers to make or change reservations and for information (languages spoken: Japanese and English, open between JST 9:00-18:00). (You can ride the Tateyama Cable Car without reservation.) - To customers using Mt. Fuji-Shizuoka Area Tourist Pass Mini - Ferry As operations may be suspended owing to severe weather and any necessary refits, please see the website to check embarkation dates. When you use the Shimizu Port Cruise, you can get on and off the ferry at Hinode Terminal, but not at Miho Sanbashi. Please be sure to stop at the help desk before boarding. - Bus Please show your pass to the driver when getting off. - Prohibition to make changes You will not be able to change the information stated on the MCO, or that indicated on the pass after the exchange. - Refunds of MCOs or passes MCOs yet to be exchanged for passes can be refunded at the store of purchase for a year after issuance. *We recommend that you exchange your MCO immediately preceding use so that your MCO can be refunded in case of any changes. *Note that you may be separately charged a commission for refunds. Passes may not be extended or refunded due to the suspension of train services, delays or other reasons. Likewise, additional costs for transportation, accommodation, etc. due to schedule changes will not be refunded. To customers using Alpine-Takayama-Matsumoto Area Tourist Pass Please be aware, that if you cancel your trip in the event of a service cancellation of any transportation operating within the Alpine Route, you are asked to come to any designated JR Central's pass exchange locations to have your money refunded. As long as you travel along the route covered by this pass, you do not have to pay any fares and charges on the way. Refunds will not be issued if you continue your trip. If you have already used any transportation services operating within the Alpine Route, refunds will not be issued for any reason. Re-issuance is not possible MCOs and passes may not be reissued if lost, stolen or soiled. Conditions for MCO and pass use Conditions for use are based on the regulations of JR Central, JR West and their affiliated companies, as well as on the laws of Japan. The Japanese version of the conditions of use will take precedence if any doubts arise on versions in languages other than Japanese. The MCO's validity in the period before it is exchanged will depend on the regulations of the company issuing the MCO.
