ESTABLISHING BUSINESS Registration Since May 2011, one-counter operating system allows business entities, just by registering in the Central Registry of Business Entities, to be automatically registered in the register of Department of Statistics, the register of taxpayers and customs payers, the register of payers of value added tax (VAT) and exercise taxpayers. State taxes: VAT- standard rate of 19%, reduced rate of 7% ( basic human nutrition products, textbooks and teaching resources, hotel accommodation servicies, daily press and periodicals, IT equipment, livestock feed, fertilizers...) and zero rate applied to export transactions and supplies of medicines and medical materials Corporate tax ( 9%, the lowest in the region) Personal income tax (13% and 9%) Compulsory social, health and pension insurance contributions (cca 50%) Real estate sale tax rate amounts to 3% of a tax base (market value), except for the purchase of a newly-built construction property which is subject to taxation by the Law on VAT Local taxes are: Surtax on personal income tax (rate: 15%) Real estate tax (rate: 0.10% - 1%) Consumption/Indirect tax 5% (spirits and beverages, and bars and restaurants)
