Dear participants of the conference! Let me assure you of my sincere respect and greet you on behalf of Turkmenkhowayollary State Civil Aviation Department. First of all, I thank you for your attention and participation in the Global conference on sustainable transport systems. This conference addresses the most important aspects of global transportation and communication industries, the latest achievements, and branches of business combined in such a global industry. Air transport of Turkmenistan continues to actively develop its infrastructure and expand the geography of international flights. The main areas of civil aviation growth in the country is the purchase and effective use of modern aircraft, ground equipment for maintenance, the improvement of flight safety and quality of the provided services, and the building of airports in all regions of Turkmenistan. I want to note that, for the time being, aircraft made by Boeing Company are mostly operated on routes of the country. Thanks to the wise support of the President in the field of aviation, the aircraft fleet of Turkmenkhowayollary State Civil Aviation Department is constantly updated with the most modern types of aircraft. As of today airliners of Turkmenistan with the "Lachin" logo operate regular flights to 17 cities in 11 European and Asian countries. Within the framework of the preparation for the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial arts Games in September 2017, it is planned to open new international routes to the Islamic Republic of Iran (Tehran), the Republic of Tatarstan (Kazan), Italy (Milan), Uzbekistan (Tashkent), the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City), and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ( Jeddah). The location of Turkmenistan on the key crossroads of the Eurasian continent opens big prospects for effective involvement of its transport potential in ensuring global development. In this regard, a particular importance is given to Ashgabat International Airport, which was built and put into operation on September 17 of this year thanks to the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Ashgabat International Airport aims to become the main "air gates" of Turkmenistan and a major transit point for continental and intercontinental air routes. The air terminal complex of the capital is the largest in Central Asia and one of foremost in the world in terms of technological equipment. It comprises more than 100 buildings. Two passenger terminals are among them, with a capacity of about 2,000 passengers per hour, which in turn will support a total of more than 17 million passengers a year. A cargo terminal capable of processing 200 thousand tons of cargo per year, a complex of hangars for aircraft maintenance, training and medical centers, two runways, the length of which is 3 thousand 800 meters with all necessary infrastructure, and other infrastructure, were built. Air traffic control service of the airport is equipped with the up-to-date navigation equipment. The airport can accept planes of any type and capacity, while providing service on a global level. The new air harbor, which takes into account the increased requirements of international standards, the weather conditions of our country, regulations and safety rules, is provided with all facilities and equipment. Buildings for different services - fire, rescue, food supply, cargo terminal, as well as aviation meteorological center, hangars logistic complex are located in the airport area. Air cargo terminal in the harbor of the Turkmen capital has all the possibilities for a large regional logistics center to be built on its base. The cargo terminal is capable of processing 200 thousand tons of cargo per year. Its territory includes: cargo apron with five parking ramps for aircraft, export and import zone area, two cooling facilities, and warehouses for storing various types of cargo.

During the opening ceremony of the International airport in view of opportunities and equipment it has, the Ashgabat International airport was awarded the following international certificates and awards: - Award "Construction Ехсеllеnсе Award" recognizing outstanding architectural concept; - International prize of quality "International Star Award for Quality" for the main advantages of the airport complex; - Certificate that certifies accomplishment of all works on preparation to put the International airport of Ashgabat into operation. In addition, a special certificate was awarded with submission into to the Guinness Book of records the largest image of the Turkmen ornaments on the surface of the main passenger terminal. Taking into consideration the convenient geographical location and also the developed infrastructure of airports in Turkmenistan, dozens of foreign cargo aircraft of different capacity operate cargo flights to Turkmenistan both on regular and charter basis. Among the largest air carriers which operate cargo regular flights to Turkmenistan, airlines such as Lufthansa Cargo, Turkish Cargo and CargoLux can be mentioned. The President of Turkmenistan pays special attention to the development of civil aviation as an important component of national transport and logistics system. In this case the big part is assigned to the international airport in Turkmenbashi. Within implementation of the program of construction of the National tourist zone "Avaza" in April, 2010, a new airport complex was open in Turkmenbashi with the terminal capacity of 800 passengers per hour, as well as a new runway with length of 3,500 meters that can accommodate aircraft of all types. Great attention is also paid to the development of airports in other cities of Turkmenistan.

In 2008, in the city of Mary a new runway was put into operation that was equipped with means of ground support of flights as well as a new passenger terminal with a capacity of 550 passengers per hour. In the city of Dashoguz the construction of a runway with the length of 3800 meters was finished. Centralized fuel station for refueling of aircraft, air traffic control tower, main taxiways, and apron with parking areas for aircraft were built. In the eastern part of the country in the city of Turkmenabat the construction of the third largest international airport in Turkmenistan is being in progress. The construction of a new "air gates" in the city of Turkmenabat with a capacity of 500 passengers per hour creates more opportunities for the operation of the international flights from this region to many countries of the world. The airport complex will be put into operation in August next year. Turkmenkhowayollary State Civil Aviation Department has a training school for aviation personnel, which trains technicians and mechanics to service engines and airframe, aircraft avionics and ground-based air navigation equipment, specialists of fuel department, electricians, flight attendants. A new building of training center, a dormitory for 180 people and a simulator center, which will provide training both for our and foreign pilots. For flight training of pilots, four training aircraft Diamond and two helicopters Enstrom were purchased. In addition, our specialists annually have conversion courses for the new types of aircraft, refresher courses, and continue to receive special training and simulator training in training centers in the UK, USA, France. The transport sector is one of the key segments of the global economy and an essential factor of global sustainable development that influences directly on the stability and the balance of world economic relations. During the years of independence the aviators of Turkmenistan transported

tens of millions of passengers and about half a million tons of cargo and mail on international and domestic routes.there is a growing extent of international routes of Turkmenkhowayollary State Civil Aviation Department and these facts grow from year to year. All the above mentioned shows that the industry of civil aviation of Turkmenistan is developing rapidly and in accordance with the international practice of the most developed countries, the main elements of which are: - availability of aircraft of world-class; - developed ground infrastructure of the airports; - high-quality servicing of passenger and freight transportation. Taking this opportunity I would like to emphasize with confidence that Turkmenkhowayollary State Civil Aviation Department is open and ready for business cooperation in a field of civil aviation activity. In conclusion, once again, I want to emphasize that thanks to wise support of the President of Turkmenistan all conditions for the work and development of the civil aviation of Turkmenistan are created, as well as for mutually beneficial cooperation. I am sure that our joint operation will allow solving issues for a dynamic development of the transport industry, and we are always open for a positive cooperation and dialogue. I wish you good health, success and all the best.
