Export Freight Revenue Tax All export freight earnings on cargo shipped from Dominican ports are subject to tax which currently amounts to 2.8% of the gross freight. This is based on the premises that 10% of the gross revenues of the carrier are net earnings, and these are taxed at 28%. The carrier s local representative, or in his stead the steamship agent for the vessel, is responsible for this payment on a monthly basis and hence this amount is included with the request for advance for port disbursements to all Owners.
