The Town of Caledon Parks and Recreation Department is committed to providing a fun and safe camp experience for all our participants. You will find a variety of details about our summer programs listed here. Camp Descriptions Please note due to legislative changes to the Day Nurseries Act, summer camp programs are only available for children ages four and up. ART ADVENTURES CAMP Expand your artistic world with a variety of forms, including mosaics, painting, clay and more. Also enjoy additional daily activities, special events and a group exhibition at the end of the week. Age: 6-12 years Cost:.00 BAKERS DOZEN CAMP An introduction to baking with emphasis on how to read and follow recipes, kitchen safety and basic decorating techniques. Participants will have the opportunity to make a variety of recipes they can take home. This program is nut aware. Age: 6-12 years Cost: $210.00 (C2C) - CONNECTING TO CAMP Too old for camp? Think again! This is the first step in your leadership development. C2C will lead you to the LIT, then CIT opportunities in the coming years. C2C offers youth a stimulating environment filled with outdoor challenges, group interaction and lasting friendships. Participants are encouraged to challenge themselves daily through participation in a full range of activities, including: arts and crafts, leadership activities, sports and much more. Each session will include a day trip and various special guests. Age: 11-13 years Cost:.00 CAMP PREMIERE! This camp runs the first week of summer and provides active days full of games, songs, activities, swimming, arts and crafts, and so much more. Each day will offer a different fun and exciting theme with some surprises along the way. Start your summer off right and join us at Camp Premiere! Activities may vary depending on location. Age: 4-12 years Cost:.00 CHEERLEADING CAMP This program introduces participants to energetic dance routines, jumps, cheers, basic lifts and tumbling, cart wheels, back walk overs and round offs. A presentation will be held for family and friends at the end of the week. Age: 8-12 years Cost:.00 COMMUNITY HEROES - EMERGENCY SERVICES CAMP Explore the important jobs of police officers, firefighters and paramedics in our community. This camp will allow hands on training in each of the fields, focusing on safety topics, equipment and leadership in the community. Campers will also participate in camp games, songs and crafts. Age: 6-12 years Cost:.00 CONSERVATION KIDS CAMP This camp aims to inspire a commitment to conserving and sustaining the natural environment while engaging in outdoor play and adventure. Campers will take part in a variety of fun and exciting activities that may include hiking, biking, group games and outdoor pursuits. Please dress accordingly. This camp takes place both indoors and outdoors. Age: 6-12 years Cost:.00 (CIT) COUNSELLOR IN TRAINING This is the next step in your leadership training. Completion of the Leader In Training Program (LIT) is a prerequisite for this course and must be completed prior to volunteering. Participants will learn different leadership techniques, customer service skills, behaviour management and what it takes to become a camp counsellor. A mandatory training session must be attended in order to volunteer at camp. You will be given confirmation of your camp location during the training session. CITs will receive an evaluation at the end of the session, as well as credit toward community service hours. A minimum of 35 volunteer hours must be completed. Please register in the July training if you would like to volunteer during the month of July, and register in the August training if you would like to volunteer during the month of August. Please note volunteers will be asked to swim in the pool with campers. Age: 15-18 years Cost: $80.00 DANCE CAMP Participants will explore different styles of movement and create dance through actions and movements. This program will also challenge memorization, as each new move will be added together to create a routine. Family and friends will be invited to a short presentation at the end of the week. Age: 6-12 years Cost:.00 DRAMA CAMP Drama camp will teach participants an array of new skills, including: voice, movement, expression, script writing and performance. Family and friends are welcome to attend the last class for a short performance where participants will showcase their skills. Age: 8-12 years Cost:.00 FINALE CAMP! Just when you thought summer camp was over, there s FINALE CAMP! Campers will rotate through different activities, such as: arts and crafts, sports, games, swimming and leadership challenges. Each day will cover a different, exciting theme with some surprises along the way. Activities may vary depending on location. Age: 4-12 years Cost:.00 FURRY FRIENDS - ANIMAL CARE CAMP Campers will learn the key fundamentals to animal care, including: feeding, grooming, ensuring proper health and how to clean up after your pet. Guest speakers could include representatives from the animal shelter, local veterinary, local K9 groups and/or service animals. Campers will also participate in camp games, songs and crafts. Age: 6-12 years Cost:.00 HOCKEY ACADEMY Led by Olympic athletes and former national team members, this camp is ideal for hockey players wanting to take their game to the next level. Through a series of progressive games and drills, players will improve their individual and team skills. Players will also take part in off-ice activities, including games, sport and crafts. Players must wear a properly fastened CSA approved hockey helmet with facemask and their own hockey equipment. Participants must have previous hockey experience. Age: 4-12 years Cost: $300.00 HOCKEY SKILLS AND DRILLS CAMP This fun filled hockey skills and drills camp will focus on progressions and proper techniques. Camps will have the opportunity to develop their hockey skills in a welcoming environment that will foster teamwork and friendship. Campers will participate in both on and off ice skills and will also be incorporated into regular camp games, songs and crafts. Campers must wear a properly fastened CSA approved hockey helmet with full facemask, skates and their own hockey equipment. Age: 6-12 years Cost: $210.00 JUNIOR CHEF CAMP Let s explore the kitchen together! Campers will learn to understand food through its flavour, texture and aroma. This camp focuses on expanding taste buds, gaining kitchen confidence, enforcing kitchen safety, promoting good food choices and learning different cooking techniques. Age: 6-12 years Cost: $210.00 JUNIOR LIFEGUARD CAMP Learn what it takes to be a lifeguard! Campers will train in lifesaving skills, such as object carry, throwing accuracy and obstacle swims, while improving their overall fitness and endurance. This camp will introduce basic rescue and first aid techniques, while emphasizing the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and achieving personal bests. Age: 7-9 years Cost: $210.00

KINDERDANCE CAMP This dance inspired camp will encourage participants to move to the music while learning flexibility, coordination, balance and selfconfidence. Additional activities include crafts, songs, games, stories and outdoor fun. All campers must be toilet trained. Training pants are not permitted. Age: 4-5 years Cost:.00 (LIT) LEADER IN TRAINING This two week program is an introduction to leadership development. This program will consist of one week of training, including: basic information on program planning, communication, first aid, effective discipline for children, games, songs and policies and procedures. Upon successful completion, participants will have the opportunity to volunteer in a placement at one of our camp programs. This prepares participants for possible future employment. LITs will receive an evaluation at the end of the session, as well as credit toward community service hours. Age: 14-18 years Cost:.00 LEARN TO SKATE CAMP The learn to skate camp is designed to promote fun, fitness and participation. This camp will focus on fundamental skating skills including balance, control and agility skills. Campers will participate in both on and off ice skills and will also be incorporated into regular camp games, songs and crafts. Campers must wear a properly fastened CSA approved hockey helmet and bring their own skates. Face masks are recommended. Age 6-12 years Cost: $210.00 LITTLE CRITTERS CAMP Participants will experience a fun, safe and social environment while exploring crafts, songs, games, stories and outdoor fun. The Little Critters program is a great introduction for those heading into Kindergarten in the fall and is offered at a variety of locations throughout Caledon. All campers must be toilet trained. Training pants are not permitted. Age: 4-5 years Cost:.00 MEGA VENTURE CAMP Tons of activities, lots of variety, creativity and fun all in one! During this mega camp, kids can try a number of different activities both indoors and out. Our daily adventures may include group games, science experiments, nature exploration, sports, crafts and more. Age: 6-12 years Cost:.00 MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP Lights, camera, action! This camp offers drama and music related activities, crafts and general camp games. A short performance will be held on the last day of camp for family members to come and watch. Age: 9-12 years Cost: $150.00 PALGRAVE WILDERNESS CAMP Love the outdoors? This action-packed camp will provide your camper with a range of traditional camp games and activities, as well as the opportunity to learn about camping and adventure in the natural world. This camp is best suited to kids who love to try new things, challenge themselves and for those who just can t keep still! Through nature exploration and navigation basics and more, this fun filled outdoor focused camp will keep kids busy all day. This camp will run rain or shine. However, campers will be relocated if extreme weather conditions are to occur. Age: 6-12 years Cost:.00 SKATEBOARD CAMP This camp will teach proper balance, skating techniques, basic tricks and how to adjust and maintain a board. Participants will have the opportunity to try their new skills on small ramps and rails. Helmets are mandatory. Wrist guards and other protective gear is recommended. Age: 6-12 years Cost:.00 SPORTS CAMP Sports Camp will focus on skills and drills for a variety of different sports, such as basketball, soccer, badminton, volleyball, floor hockey, fitness classes and more. This camp also focuses on the importance of fair play and teamwork. Additional activities include swimming and biking. Age: 5-12 years Cost:.00 SUMMER ACTIVITY WEEKS Participants will engage in active and passive games, outdoor games, basic sports and crafts. This camp also offers swimming, rock climbing and skateboarding/biking/scooter time. Our dedicated staff will help provide a safe and welcoming environment for participants with special needs. Age: 4-21 years Cost:.00 SWIM CAMP Participants will swim daily to practice strokes, water safety and play pool games. This camp provides an opportunity to successfully complete a Swim For Life level. This course includes classroom time where participants will enjoy games, crafts and outdoor play. TECHNOLOGY CAMP Come unlesh your imagination in this camp by creating your own animated cartoon movie, designed to have your drawings up and moving in minutes! Participants will be guided step by step in a computerized environment, as they create and watch their cartoon come to life. The software s engaging design and multiple levels offer a fun, rewarding experience providing the novice animator the courage to create with confidence! At the end of the program participants will be sent their animated movies. This camp is offered in partnership with Kids Great Minds - fun computer learning. Age: 6-12 years Cost: $300.00 TRY-A-TRI CAMP Swimming, biking and running! This camp is a fun way to introduce campers to the world of triathlons. Along with the traditional triathlon events, participants will engage in a typical camp day filled with games and activities. Campers will require a bike, helmet, running shoes and bathing suit throughout the week. Age: 6-13 years Cost:.00 VARIETY CAMP JR. This camp is jam-packed with excitement. General Camp Information PAYMENT OPTIONS Cash, Cheque, Debit, Visa, Mastercard. Payment is due at the time of registration. Full payment is required if registration takes place less than two weeks prior to the start of the camp. Post-dated payment for the balance will be taken two weeks prior to the camp start date. Pre-authorized payments will be scheduled at the time of registration with Visa or Mastercard only. A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 per child, per camp will be accepted at the time of registration. CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY A full refund less a $15.00 administration fee per participant, per session, will be issued if the request has been received more than two weeks before the camp start date. A full refund, less a $50.00 non-refundable deposit per participant, per session, will be issued if a request has been received less than two weeks before the camp start date. No refunds will be issued on or after the camp start date unless accompanied by a medical note. Transfers will be permitted, provided there is space and completed prior to the camp start date. FAMILY RATE For families registering three or more children in the same session, the Town of Caledon will apply a family discount of 20% to the least expensive program for the third and subsequent children (children must be siblings). Discounts may not be available for all programs. Please inquire at the time of registration for family rates. Family discount is not available for online registration. NON-RESIDENT RATE Non-residents will be charged an additional fee of $16.00 per program, per person. NON-SUFFICIENT FUNDS (NSF) A $46.00 fee applies to all NSF cheques. Payment for outstanding balances will be accepted by cash or credit card only. CODE OF CONDUCT Please inform us of any family or behavioural concerns. Our staff will make every effort to accommodate your child s needs, however we reserve the right to withdraw your child from the program should their behaviour cause harm to themselves, participants, staff or property. All information shared is strictly confidential. AGE REQUIREMENTS Children must be the minimum age required on the start date of the camp. Age requirements are camp specific and are indicated in the program description. Campers must be toilet trained as training pants are not permitted. WHAT TO BRING Prior to camp, an email will be sent with the weekly camp newsletter attached. Families will also be contacted by phone to outline the activities that will be happening during your camper s week at camp. To enhance your camper s experience, please remember to bring the following items with your child each day and clearly mark your child s name on the items sent to camp. Nutritious lunch - NUT AWARE Reusable water bottle Additional snacks for morning and afternoon Hat and sunscreen Comfortable running shoes - open toe sandals and Crocs are not appropriate for camp activities Bathing suit and towel Weather appropriate clothing for outdoor activities A CAMPER INFORMATION FORM will be emailed to all registered participants and can be found on our website at www.caledon.ca/recreation. All interested volunteers must complete the Leader-In- Training or Counsellor- In- Training course in order to participate in camp. CAMP HOURS Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Camps will not operate on Monday, August 7 (Civic Holiday). NUT-AWARE The Parks and Recreation summer camp programs are NUT AWARE. Please pack healthy, nut-free snacks and lunches for your camper. Please indicate any nut or other allergies at the time of registration. SWIMMING All camps that include swimming will be required to follow the Aquatic Admission Standards. Please note campers under 10 years of age may be required to wear a life-jacket for the entire swim. All campers 6-9 years will be required to complete a facility swim test. LATE PICK-UP PROCEDURE Campers must be picked up by 4:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. respective of their camp location. Failure to do so will result in a penalty of $1.00/minute according to the Town of Caledon facility clock and sign out sheets.
