CHAPTER DIRECTORS AL & CATHY NIGHSWANDER And it is FEBRUARY!! HEY, Hey, hey! We are making it through the winter of 2017-2018. Al and I are officially Chapter B Directors. Randy Young, Assistant State Director, swore us and the rest of the 2018 team into our Chapter positions on January 21. Randy, with his assistant Linda Copeland, did his Super High Intensity Training, proving that we all full of S.H.I.T. in one form or another. More important though was the sea of red shirts that were at the January meeting. What an awesome sight! It was great to have Rudy and Linda Copeland at the meeting and Cherry Hair, new Assistant Ride Coordinator. We hope that we reflect the energy and fun of Chapter B members. Many of us played the games at Cabin Fever, and enjoyed the Talent/No Talent Show, the food, and the friendships. There were several great training seminars and auctions. If you did not participate, you missed a great time. Buckeye Rally 2018 is less than 5 months away. Larry and Karen Bland have spoken with Kim Meier of Mansfield/ Richland County Visitors Bureau. We have letters ready to send to corporate restaurant offices for advertising, Al and Mike are working on vendors, and we are so excited that Sierra Electronics are coming to the rally with some other favorite vendors. There is lots of talk about music and decorations and campsite judging also taking place. All of us on the Chapter Team want your input and help so don t be afraid to make suggestions. IT IS GOING TO BE A GREAT RALLY! Randy Young, Assistant State Director swore in the 2018 Chapter B Director and their Staff with a sense of humor that our Chapter thoroughly enjoyed. Randy, being the fantastic guy he is, made the swear-in a memorable experience. Thank you Randy. 2
ASSISTANT CHAPTER DIRECTORS MIKE & CHERYL FINLEY Hello Everyone: Well it's a new year, and winter has lasted way to long! Having told you something you already know let s move on. Al, Ted and I went to the IX Center to the motorcycle show to see the new Gold Wing. I had high hopes but I was disappointed, in looks and options. There were many lookers who were excited about the new wing, well heck it has a Honda heart, it has to be good; I'll let you decide. The show itself was fairly good with lots of beautiful motorcycles as well as the unusual. We had a good time (I Think) and Al and Ted got to eat at a different restaurant for Breakfast; you will have to ask them what they thought. I know that many of us in Ohio are thinking of those in Arizona, we hope that all of you are having a good time and enjoying the warm weather, because we are not enjoying the cold and snow. Ride safe, have a good time, take lots of pictures and when you return we will all share our winter experience, the high and the lows. Mike & Cheryl ASSISTANT CHAPTER DIRECTORS JIM & CAROL CULLER Hi Everyone: Well, at the January, we were sworn in with Al & Cathy and the rest of their team. Of course Randy Young felt we all needed some extra beneficial training on Special High Intensity Training (S.H.I.T). I guess we all passed under the guidance of Rudy and Linda Copeland, and Randy Young; witnessed by Chapter B Members and our new District Educator Cherry Hair, who has been a Chapter V Member and has put many, many miles on his motorcycle a GL1200. We wish Cherry Hair good luck with his new position and know he will do a great job. We had a great time at Cabin Fever. It was fantastic seeing Frank/Alice Snyder and Charlie /Phyllis Barnette there, just like old times. Our Chapter joined in on all the games, and all the entertainment that Cabin Fever offered. We had 15 Chapter B Members attend: Gage got 1 st place in the miniature corn hole game; Deb Parks won the women s Euchre Card Game; and Larry Bland won 2 nd place in the Hamburger Toss. Highlight was the no talent show/auction. The State Staff did a fantastic job of entertaining while 3
including the audience. Mike Finley did a pantomime impromptu song and dance act (which, by the way, was hilarious (See Below). The auction had some great bidders on a decorator can (can donated by Ashley) full of baked goods done by Carol and Jim Culler. Don Schroeder was finally out bid by the Michigan group at a total of $325.00. As usual, it was a really relaxing weekend with a lot of friends and GWRRA Members. Thanks To Karen Bland For The Cabin Fever Pictures 4

DISTRICT EDUCATOR OHIO - GWRRA Robert G & Angela Williams Hello Fellow Riders By the time you read this article Cabin Fever will have happened! Did you attend? I am thinking about my first Cabin Fever and a conversation I had with a long time GWRRA couple. They were telling me how they had just come in from the airport. My question was where did you fly in from? They replied Florida. That peeked my interest, so I said why? They went on to tell me how they came back from Florida to hang out with their friends. They did not come for the silly games we play, or the Fantastic Seminars that 5
are presented, or the Funny talent shows or any of the other entertainment venues. They came to Cabin Fever to be with their Friends. So my question to you is what story will you be telling a new couple that just started their journey with GWRRA? I have set the 2018 Rider Course Schedule and will have attached a copy of the GWRRA Registration form to this article. Feel free to visit: http://www.ohiogwrra.org and download a copy and share it. Registrations are coming in at a good pace. Remember every weekend in May has a class somewhere. Please don t let these go unfilled. The least expensive way to say to a friend I care it to give them a seat in this class. Or did you ever think of a Chapter to giving one as a Door Prize!!! JOIN US FOR THE JOURNEY... Hello Fellow Riders RIDE COORDINATORS RICH FAETH AND SUSAN KENNEDY Hello Chapter B Ohio from Tucson, Richard was to have rotator cuff surgery, however, at the writing of my article that has been put on hold until after another EKG can be done. It s a long story, but we are still hopeful that he will have the surgery in Tucson so he can recover before returning to Ohio. On another family note, Kevin is now in rehab at OSU Dodd Hall. We aren t sure how long rehab will take as that depends on his evaluation and how quickly he responds to the rehab schedule. We sure hope Kevin will be home soon. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. 6
My Daddy, Robert Kennedy, will be turning 90 on February 13 th. I was given very strict orders that there is to be NO party! The Tucson Estates gang has really been busy! We hopped a bus and visited Laughlin, Nevada where a couple of people won at the casino and we saw a vehicle owned by Judy s son on display. Our bus took us to Oatman, Arizona where burros roam the town. Took a boat down the mighty Colorado to see the London Bridge. A Mariachi group from a local High School and the Bar D Wranglers from Colorado are some of the entertainment we have enjoyed at our community center. No grass under our shoes!! Finally, I have secured a block of rooms at the Oak Tree Lodge in Sevierville, TN for the Wing Ding 2018. The rooms have all been remolded with new beds and a new breakfast room has been added as well. The rooms are booked from Aug 27 and check out Sept 2.
