President s Corner: Hello Drifters, We are all getting ready for our summer trips and vacations. I hope you have a great summer, and most of all a safe one. We will be starting our summer off with the Presidential Rally. After that we will be pretty much all over the Midwest with family and friends. We are returning home in the RV a bit early this year to park it for the rest of the summer. We will be off on the bike for a Route 66 tour. We are really looking forward to this trip. We have wanted to get on Old 66 and see as many parts of the West and Midwest as time will permit. We will be back in Arizona in late Sept. or early Oct. We are not sure at this time. We have a few things to do to the RV before we leave for Texas for the rally, but I have time to get it all done. We use the RV a lot during the winter and spring, so it stays in pretty good shape all the time. We will be looking forward to another good RV season starting in October. I know we have some very nice rallies planned for our next season. I look forward to seeing a lot of you at our final Dinner Meeting of the season on May 7 th. Howard ACTIVITIES MEETING MINUTES April 2, 2013 Attendees: Howard & Cheryl Dye, Bill Hohmann & Joann Snow, Bernie & Kendra Kuehn, Lori Miller, Donna Rogers, Rick Rolland, Tom & Ruth Roubal, Jeff & Linda Salfen, Clint & Carol Smith, and Lois Wiley The Activities Meeting was held at Lazy Days RV Resort and was called to order on April 2 nd at 4:30 p.m. by Ruth Roubal. Ruth stated that this will be the last activity meeting of the season. Hosts of the March rally at the Organ Pipe National Monument were thanked for the great job they did. Everyone enjoyed the activities along with the time of relaxation. Those who went on to Rocky Point had a great time and are looking forward to returning. May 18-June 8 Presidential Library Tour with a stop in Branson, Missouri Long rally Currently 12 coaches signed up for this rally. The final payment for this rally is due on April 18 th. It was stated that the rally ends in Abilene, Kansas and not Abilene, Texas. When asked the preference of the group regarding library tours, the majority said they would like docent led tours. Rally cost is $860.00 for two people. Roubal/Dye/Smith Jeff Salfen will attend the FMCA rally in Gillette, Wyoming in place of Bernie Kuehn. It was stated that if our chapter wants an entry in the chapter parade we need to register as soon as possible. 2013-2014 SEASON October - This month s rally was cancelled due to no rally hosts. It was suggested instead of a rally there be a rendezvous in Rocky Point. There will be a notice regarding this sent out during the summer. November - Mystery Rally - No date has been scheduled for this rally. Plans are still under way. Coplin/Roubal/Dye December - Rally at Lazy Days RV Resort in conjunction with our monthly dinner meeting. Two or three nights will be scheduled in the park. If OK d by this committee, at the next board meeting, Ruth will request that dinner be paid for all current club members who attend this month s dinner meeting - Activities Group 2

January - Casa Grande, Arizona - New Year s Eve celebration at Palm Creek RV Resort - Hosts are going to incorporate more activities and make it a rally consisting of several days. The nightly cost will be $42.00 plus tax. There is a 1 st night non-refundable deposit. Bernie will keep the group posted on his progress. It was mentioned that the Mesa Swap Meet is the 20 th to 23 rd of February. Kuehn/Coplin March - Picacho Peak, Arizona - Civil War Reenactment - Smith/Miller/Martin/Fearnow April - Benson, Arizona - Kartchner Caverns - It was stated that the big room closes on April 14 th for the bats so the rally will probably be scheduled before that date.
