the Real Alternative

INTRODUCING CP Rail CASO The Better Way To Move Your Products To, From And Through Southwestern Ontario CP Rail service in southwestern Ontario has taken a major step forward with the purchase of the Canada Southern Railway Company (Conrail). This line runs from Niagara Falls to Windsor, Ontario and includes the key connections of the Niagara River Bridge Company and the Detroit River Tunnel Company. This joint purchase by CP Rail and CN Rail opens the door for CP Rail to aggressively develop real alternatives for rail customers in this key region. CP Rail will now have long haul routings to and from all points on this new line. As a CP Rail customer you can look forward to improved service, improved car supply and improved track maintenance, plus the convenience of using one trusted carrier throughout southwestern Ontario and the rest of Canada. Suspension Bridge. Niagara Falls

CP Rail CASO

Background The joint purchase agreement separates the line into three sections for management purposes. CP Rail, however, can participate in routings applicable to and from all points. The Sections Are: The Eastern Section. Running from Niagara Falls to Welland including the Niagara River Bridge. It is exclusively operated by CP Rail. The Joint Section. Running from Hewitt to Fargo, jointly owned by CP Rail and CN Rail. The Western Section. Running from Fargo to Windsor and tying in Leamington, Ontario, and exclusively operated by CN Rail. CP Rail, however, maintains the right to solicit traffic via its long haul routes on this section. In addition, the Detroit River Tunnel is jointly owned by CP Rail and CN Rail.

The Eastern Section CP Rail customers in this fast growing area will now enjoy the benefit of having one carrier for originating or terminating shipments. Operations on this section will be handled by the Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo Railway Company on behalf of CP Rail. Routing On DOMESTIC traffic your best service route from points on this section is via Caso-Welland-TH&B-Hamilton, then via normal CP routes beyond. (Or vice versa). On TRANS BORDER traffic your best service route from points on this section moving via authorized routes over the Niagara Frontier gateway is Caso-Niagara Falls NY (Suspension Bridge),-Conrail and connections. (Or vice versa). Or On traffic moving via authorized routes over the Windsor/Detroit Gateway, your best service route is via Caso-Welland-TH&B-Hamilton-CP-Detroit for connections beyond. (Or vice-versa). On traffic with tariff application over other border gateways, your best service route is via Caso-Welland- TH&B-Hamilton, then via recognized CP Rail routes to border points for connections beyond. (Or vice versa). On THROUGH TRANS BORDER traffic your best service route moving via Niagara Frontier is via CP Rail normal routes to Hamilton, then TH&B-Welland-Caso-Niagara Falls NY(Suspension Bridge),-Conrail and connections. (Or vice versa).

CP Rail is committed to having the right cars in the right place at the right time. The cars you need. Routing On DOMESTIC traffic your best service route to or from points on this section is via CP RAIL direct. On TRANS BORDER traffic your best service route from points on this section moving via authorized routes over the Niagara Frontier gateway is CP-Welland-Caso- Niagara Falls (Suspension Bridge), NY-Conrail and connections. (Or vice versa). On traffic moving via authorized routes over the Windsor/Detroit gateway, your best service route is via CP-Detroit and connections beyond. (Or vice versa).
