Measuring Louvre Awnings Regardless of the Louvre Awning Style, first determine the fit kit style that will be used to fit the louvred awning. KIT A FACIA FIT KIT B UNDER EAVE KIT C BAHAMA HOOD KIT D WALL FIT WITH CENTRE STRINGER FLOATING KIT E UNDER EAVE BRICK FIT CANTERLEVER KIT F FACE FIT CANETERLEVER TO TIMBER WALL KIT G FACE FIT FLAT TO WALL KIT H TOP AND BOTTOM FIT Width If measuring close to the window (minimum arm length 150mm) then measure opening plus a minimum of 150mm over each side. If measuring from the facia or the outer edge of the eave then measure opening plus a minimum of 300m over each side. Drop If measuring from under the eave, measure to desired drop or if measuring on a black wall above the window, then measure from a minimum of 2 bricks above the opening to the desired drop. NOTE: The further out from a window you measure the higher and wider you will need to measure. Beware of sun coming over the top of through the sides of the Louvre Awning if measuring far out from the window. In some situations you may have to infill the top of the louvred Awning with louvres or cover the top with a bahama awning panel (see fit kit C). The adjustable and fixed louvred awning chart must be completed and attached to each order for louvre awnings. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 3 OF 13

1. Measure Area to Determine Exactly Where Awning is to be Installed. 2. Determine Which Fit Kit Has Been Ordered for the Job. KIT A FACIA FIT KIT B UNDER EAVE KIT C BAHAMA HOOD KIT D WALL FIT WITH CENTRE STRINGER FLOATING KIT E UNDER EAVE BRICK FIT CANTERLEVER KIT F FACE FIT CANTERLEVER TO TIMBER WALL KIT G FACE FIT FLAT TO WALL KIT H TOP & BOTTOM FIT 3. Installing Top Bracket Mark out the fixing positions for the top bracket. Ensure when installing, stringers are level and in line, pack and adjust where necessary. (Use a string line). Panels must not overhang stringers by more than 300mm. 4. Fitting Stringers Fit stringers and brackets using 40mm x 10 gauge screws and 32mm x 4.5mm gutter bolts and nuts. For brickwork use Alex aluminium rawl plugs. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 10 OF 13
5. Installing Hat Section Fit the hat section along the back of the stringer within 150mm from the bottom with two 12mm x 12 gauge screws or 4mm pop rivets per stringer. 6. Installing Arms Ensure stringers are in a vertical position. Mark out arms from centre of hat section and square off the wall. Screw brackets to wall using 40mm x 10 gauge screws. Attach brackets to hat section using 12mm x 12 gauge screws or 4mm pop rivets. Arms should be cut to length and pre-drilled by factory. If not, measure length, cut and drill 4.5mm holes in end of arms and attach using 4.5mm x 32mm gutter bolts and nuts. 7. Installing Panels Clip the panels into position on the brackets starting from the top. Check colour pattern as you go. Hang the panel on the bracket and snap each panel into the bottom curl (see sketch). IMPORTANT NOTE: Snap panels onto clips with care. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. Adjustable Trinidad 1. Fixing Awning is the Same as Fixed Trinidad. 2. Controls Determine whether outside controlled or internally controlled. a) Externally b) Internally 3. Fitting Controls EXTERNAL - HANDLE ONLY Slide the cross shaft through all the boxes and stringers. Fit the control handle to the desired box and check that all stringer fittings operate simultaneously. Attach the spring washer to both ends to stop shaft from moving. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 12 OF 13
INTERNAL - WALL CONTROL SET Slide the cross shaft through all the boxes and stringers as mentioned on previous page. Temporarily fit a dummy handle to any box and check the operations of the stringer fittings etc. Fasten the cross shaft. Fit a universal to the desired control box by clipping it into the hexagonal hole in the back of the box. (This universal is supplied as part of the wall control set). Mark the position on the house wall for the wall control plates. (Check for any obstructions inside the house). Drill a 16mm hole through both the exterior and interior walls. The hole should be true and square, however, the built-in ball joints will accommodate up to 10º out of alignment. Centralise the outer wall plate (with universal joint fitted) in the wall hole. Measure the distance between this universal and the universal on the awning control box (see sketch). Add 40mm to this dimension and cut a piece of cross shaft to suit. Insert the shaft into both universals and replace the wall plate onto the wall. NOTE: One or two awning support arms may be disconnected at this stage to overcome any difficulty in fitting the wall plate in position. Drill the screw holes and fix the plate to the wall with two self tapping screws. Place two screw cover caps into the wall plate. Move to the inside of the house. Insert a piece of cross shaft through the wall and into the square hole in the shank of the outer wall plate (now between the walls). Mark the shaft level with the face of the inside wall (as in sketch). Remove the shaft, subtract 10mm from this dimension and cut the shaft to suit. Carefully place the shaft back into the shank. Now place the inner wall plate (with handle) into position. Ensure the shank of this plate fits onto the cross shaft. Care must be taken in this alignment not to dislodge the shaft and so lose it between the walls. Drill the screw holes and fix the plate to the inside wall with two self tapping screws. Place two screw cover caps into the wall plate. Check the operation of the awning from inside the house. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2011 APPROVED BY: T. MICHELL PAGE 13 OF 13
