Your trip starts with a cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm. Once there, you can sit back on the lakeside terrace of the Colonel s Homestead Restaurant and savour the delicious aromas as our chef has the best of local produce, sizzling away on the grill. After your dinner, you can join an entertaining farm demonstration or explore the beautiful lakeside gardens, before boarding a gentle cruise back to town. On the magical night-time cruise home, you can enjoy the camaraderie of a sing-along with the ship s pianist or breathe in the fresh night air on the moonlit decks as you watch the lights of Queenstown draw nearer. She is well-loved for her entertaining and practical, plain talking technology quick tips and is known as Ms Productivity by the media. KEYNOTE TITLE: How To Get More Done In Less Time Debbie Mayo-Smith Jacqui Patuawa Jacqui Patuawa is currently Associate Director of the University of Auckland Centre for Educational Leadership (UACEL), and, within that role led the First-time Principals Programme between 2010 and 2016. Jacqui works within the wider environment of the Centre for Educational Leadership with a particular focus on supporting the teaching of Open-to-learning Leadership alongside Distinguished Prefessor Viviane Robinson. Jacqui brings a varied and rich background to her work in the Centre as a primary teacher, deputy principal, principal and facilitator at the Principal Development Planning Centre. Prior to joining UACEL Jacqui had three school principalships over a 12-year period. In 2010 she was awarded a NEITA award for Excellence in Leadership. Jacqui has a Masters in Educational Leadership with first class honours and has confirmed enrolment status in a PhD in educational leadership at the University of Auckland. Jacqui s passion is leadership development for improving schools and her most recent work has focused on mentoring principals, building the capability of leaders to engage in challenging conversations, developing leadership tools and workshops, and designing school improvement programmes. John Quinn Raised and Educated in Ireland, John Quinn arrived in the United Arab Emirates in 1996 determined to make the difference between presentations that fall flat, and that seal the deal. After several years with Gearhouse & Philips Middle East he started Satellite in Dubai Media City in 2001 and then expanded the operation to Dubai Silicon Oasis in 2010. SPEAKERS Catherine Bates is a Regional Employment Adviser with NZSTA covering the lower North Island. With over 10 years experience on school boards including the role of chairperson and experience as an office manager Catherine s diverse experience allows her to understand the wider perspective of employment. Catherine has a strong belief that when organisations have good employment processes and practices in place everyone benefits. Catherine has experience working with all aspects of employment and provides advice and guidance on processes, legislative requirements and prevention and resolution of employment related issues to school Board of Trustees, Principals or those delegated the responsibility of employment. Catherine Bates HR Recruitment, Letters of Appointment, HR Issues and questions Liz has been in the Education sector for over 45 years. For 37 of these years she worked at Manurewa High School. For 22 of these years she was Second Principal. During her time as Second Principal she was a member of SPANZ; and for 5 years served on the SPANZ Executive. Liz was on the organizing committees for many SPANZ Conferences and was twice the Conference Convenor. Liz has also worked, for four years, as a Contract Reviewer for ERO and for the last six years has been involved with NZQA for the organization and running of the NCEA and Scholarship exams. She is currently involved in school Board of Trustees work PA Issues Session Liz Dixon Tom Wilkinson is a secondary school teacher from Cashmere High School in Christchurch. Tom spen ds most of his day as a Head of School looking after the Year 11 cohort and is also heavily involved in the use of KAMAR student management system within Cashmere. When not at school Tom spends most of his time coaching football with Cashmere Technical.
