Organized at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, as one the largest trade fair for the automotive aftermarket. Automechanika spotlights innovations and solutions in the fields of parts, systems, tuning, workshop equipment, bodywork & paintwork, car wash, IT & management and the latest automobile services. Automechanika Dubai 2013 has reported to have welcomed more than 24,000 trade visitors from around 130 countries, a 16 percent increase on 2012. The fair featured 1,482 exhibitors from 58 countries. ACMA had a joint stand participation at the recently concluded Automechnika Dubai Show 2013with 20 members participating in a total display area of 243 sq.mts. The exhibition was spread over 38,642 sq. mtrs. at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Dubai. The ACMA Joint Stand was located in the Hall 2. Besides India the exhibitors were mainly from Germany, Australia, Turkey, Brazil, UK, Thailand, China, Philipines, Taipei, Hong Kong, Malayasia and Singapore. The top five country pavilions was from China, Turkey, Germany, India and Taiwan. Mr. Verma and Mr. Babu spent considerable amount of time interacting with all the exhibitors. ACMA through its information booth at the show disseminated information on the Indian Auto-Component Industry. Three ACMA member companies also displayed their product catalogues at the ACMAInformation Booth during the fair. These were distributed freely to visitors to the ACMA Stand. ACMA received enquiries at its information booth. At the Automechanika Academy while sharing the UAE market Mr Gazi explained that this is for the first time it has ever hit the US$10 bn mark, underlining the city s importance as the hub of a flourishing international trade route. In depth figures from Dubai Customs were also re-leased at the Automechanika Academy, on the sidelines of the ongoing Automechanika Dubai. Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Oman are the top three export/re-export countries for Dubai automotive aftermarket trade. As per Dubai Customs the total automotive aftermarket trade in Dubai was worth US$ 10 bn (AED 37 bn) in 2012. The Dubai Customs figures revealed that Japan, China and Korea were the largest importing countries, making up 51% of automotive total trade while Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and the Sultanate of Oman made up the top export and re-export markets. A further breakdown reveals that Parts & Accessories of motor vehicles was the largest importing sector with AED 4.9 bn or 22% of the total. New pneumatic tyres of rubber for motor cars, Trucks and Lorries came in next at AED 4.2 bn while parts for engines made up another 5% of the total trade. Furthermore, on the export and re-export side, Parts & Accessories of motor vehicles made up 28%, or AED 4.3 bn, while New pneumatic tyres for cars, buses and lorries made up another 17% at AED 2.5 bn. On 12th June at Automechanika Academy, Mr. Vinnie Mehta, Executive Director of ACMA made a presentation on Auto Component Industry in India: Growing Capabilities & Strengths.
