Garden Route Game Lodge was established in 1999 as the first Private Game Reserve in the Western Cape. Privately owned and operated by the Doherty and Apteker families since 2002, this malaria free, family friendly game reserve is home to a variety of animal and birdlife including the BIG 5. Garden Route Game Lodge is also home to giraffe, zebra and numerous antelope species such as bontebok, red hartebeest, kudu, eland, impala, springbuck and many more. Game drives will take between 2 and 3 hours depending on how much time is spent at each sighting. There will be a coffee stop on the morning drive and a sundowner stop on the evening drive.

Our location The Garden Route Game Lodge is situated off the N2 on the Garden Route in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. GPS CO Ordinates S 34 12,476 E 21 37,96 Directions from Cape Town Route 1 Take the N2 highway out of Cape Town and drive east for 348 km. Once you get to a small town called Albertinia the entrance to the Garden Route Game Lodge will be 7km after this town. Route 2 Take the N1 out of Cape town and exit onto Route 60 at Worcester, drive through the winemaking regions of Ashton and Robertson and join the N2 at Swellendam. Drive east on the N2 for 120 km. Once you get to a small town called Albertinia the entrance to the Garden Route Game Lodge will be 7km after this town. Directions from George Take the N2 highway and head west for 85 km. Once you cross over the Gouritz River Bridge (Bungy Jumping) the entrance to the Lodge will be 12 km after the bridge.
