Raised money from the club to support the activity by Ace- Cash Express to raise funds and food for the North Texas Food Bank. Provided about 500 Food cans (Chicken noodle soup) and an amount of $130. Flower Mound Irving Indian Centennial Set up appointments and optometrist gave eye exams and assisted in paying for glasses for 10 adult members of the Sherman, TX community. Two members volunteered at a local food bank, stocking shelves, packing food boxes and distributing food. One shopped for the food bank and picked up donated food from local restaurants. Food is picked up from restaurants every Monday and Tuesday; the food pantry is open every other Tuesday. Shopping and restocking are done once or twice a month Colony Club Sherman Club participates in Keep Denton Beautiful Delivered meals on wheels to the elderly of Cleburne Cleburne Club Vision screened children 3-5 years old at the UNT Child Development Center. Denton Mean Green Club Denton Lions Club awarded a $500 scholarship to Daniella Medina, a senior at Pilot Point High School. The scholarship was donated through the Denton Youth Fair and Rodeo, for which Denton Lions Club is a Blue Ribbon Donor Denton Club
Lions Renee Kolar, Judy Ralston, Walter Bowen, Chris Gregory and Michelle Greco shared their morning passing out Easter baskets, goodies and information about Texas Lions Camp. Hundreds of kids got free cotton candy, face painting, time in the petting zoo and fire truck tours! Who could forget the Easter Bunny! Northwest Tarrant Club Lions Dee & Jerome Davis, Maureen O'Leary, Rosie Fischer, Patsy Smith and Marsha Mills worked as part of the 2018 NET Lions Scholarship Committee to source, review, interview and award 4 scholarships to deserving graduating seniors from the HEB ISD school district. Lions Rodney and Sue Clayton spent the day volunteering at the Cowtown Clean Up. Hundreds of people gathered bags of garbage from area. Don't mess with Texas!! Northwest Tarrant Club Northeast Tarrant Club NET Lions sold continental breakfast at the Bedford Arts Festival. This was the first year and we able to break even. However, we were also able to gain community exposure and distribute 150 NET Lions Club information cards to attendees as well as talk to the public about LCIF. Spaghetti dinner held to assist local family with financial needs for medical assistance. Godley Club Northeast Tarrant Club
Denton Triangle Club participates in Keep Denton Beautiful Denton Lions Club spruced up the area around Southlakes Park and Teasley Lane by clearing trash and debris. We had a lot of fun and left our hometown a lot nicer. Not pictured is our guest, Genene Murphy. Denton Hi Noon Lions participated in the Denton Great American Cleanup project on Saturday March 24th. The Club picked up trash and debris along University Drive (US 380) between Nottingham and Frame Streets. Great project to support Keep Denton Beautiful and make our city a better place to live. Denton Hi Noon Club Monthly beautification of block on Crowley Main St Crowley Club The Roanoke Lions Club is dedicated to volunteering at the District 2E2 Eyeglass Recycling Center. Each month Roanoke Lions prepare thousands of glasses for mission trips going all over the world Roanoke Club Lunch is cooked and served to Seniors at the Grapevine REC Center. 47 year old single parent was losing sight due to cataracts. Crowley Lions donated $1000 toward the procedure to correct her sight with the balance coming from the Vision Assistance Committee of the LOEB. Shopping and restocking are done once or twice a month The Colony Denton Lions Club donated 5 bags of supplies to the "Hygiene Pantry" at Our Daily Bread which is a food service that serves a mid-day meal to the homeless and also provides other service, such as hygiene supplies, a mail service, some medical care, and other services to Denton's homeless. It is located at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 300 West Oak Street. Denton Lions Club provided items such as deodorant, toilet paper, back packs, toothpaste, socks, and skin ointment. The workers at Our Daily Bread were impressed and surprised with the donation, and we hope to donate more in the future Denton (916) 12 Lions worked at the REC recycling eyeglasses. We had collected eyeglasses at the city's recycling event. Grapevine Club Gainesville Lions Club held their annual Chicken and spaghetti dinner raising funds to purchase eye exams and eyeglasses for students in the Cooke County schools. The clubs also had a country store and a silent auction table. Cooke County 4-H youth helped serve the meal. Gainesville Club Donate hot lunch twice monthly to local nursing home. Sanger Club Lion Michelle Greco volunteered with the USS Fort Worth Support Committee making 75 care pkgs for the crew. Northwest Tarrant Secretary Budvitis invited, organized, followed up, and attended the volunteer activity at the District 2E2 Eyeglass Recycling Center where 9 mother/son pairs volunteered. Southlake Centennial Keller Lions volunteered on March 3, 2018 at Texas Lions Camp prepping the gym as instructed by Camp leaders. Made donation of 5000.00 to Texas Lions Camp. $1000.00 being to provide petting zoo animals for summer camps; $4000.00 to be used towards the purchase of a new all-terrain vehicle for camp use.
