ENTERTAINMENT & FESTIVAL PLAZA PRECINCT ADELAIDE CONVENTION CENTRE HEALTH INNOVATION BUILDING HEALTH & MEDICAL SCIENCES BUILDING SAHMRI 2 SAHMRI ROYAL ADELAIDE HOSPITAL WOMEN S & CHILDREN S HOSPITAL fertile ground for conventions As a key component of the Riverbank Precinct, Adelaide is creating the largest BioMed City, one of the largest life sciences clusters in the Southern Hemisphere. This significant development has created fertile ground for successful international and domestic conventions in the fields of health, medicine and related sciences. NEW ROYAL ADELAIDE HOSPITAL One of the largest and most advanced hospitals in the world, the new RAH will provide tertiary-level care and statewide services for patients and will feature: 800 beds with all overnight bedrooms being single rooms with private ensuites. A fleet of robots to help more supplies and equipment around the hospital. Ambulances sending patient data ahead of arrival and test results available on monitors in patient rooms. SAHMRI With state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) has attracted hundreds of researchers, practicing and producing world-leading medical and technology innovation and nurturing a new generation of scientists, researchers and educators. HEALTH AND MEDICAL SCIENCES BUILDING The University of Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences Building will support medicine, nursing and dentistry students as well as approximately 400 health sciences researchers. Opening in early 2017, the facility will continue to build on the 130-year partnership between the University of Adelaide and the Royal Adelaide Hospital. HEALTH INNOVATION BUILDING (HIB) The University of South Australia s Health Innovation Building will house the Centre for Cancer Biology, an alliance between the University and SA Pathology, developing links between the UniSA Community and up to 250 of Australia s top researchers who are working to develop a more in-depth understanding of cancer and health issues. The Centre has a specific focus on fundamental research that is relevant to many types of cancer, as well as the research of blood-related cancers, such as leukaemia and lymphoma.

ADELAIDE CONVENTION CENTRE A $400 million 2-stage redevelopment of the Adelaide Convention Centre has significantly increased the capacity and flexibility with the end result being three distinct interlinked buildings. The last stage is scheduled for completion in mid 2017 and will include a multipurpose, state-of-the-art facility with plenary capacity of up to 3,500 seats. This redevelopment positions the Adelaide Convention Centre as one of Australia s most versatile, technologically advanced and appealing event spaces. ADELAIDE FESTIVAL CENTRE Adelaide s iconic Festival Centre has commenced a $90 million redevelopment with improvements to the building s exterior and an internal technical upgrade. The outcomes of the project will enable the Adelaide Festival Centre to continue to attract the biggest and best shows and events to Adelaide. ADELAIDE CASINO The Adelaide Casino has embarked a $350+ million investment to a stateof-the-art, 6-star hotel complex, offering services for the high end consumer. The new building will be presented with a coherent architectural expression including a layered, wave linear glazed form, referencing the nearby River Torrens.
