Our summer programs allow opportunities for campers to develop interpersonal relationships and social skills. All camps are full of excitement! Your child will embark on a summer of fun activities, games, outdoor sports, and organized play all while meeting friends and experiencing adventure. YMCA Camps are built on a foundation of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. REQUIRED FORMS (IMMUNIZATION AND YMCA MEDICAL RELEASE/WAIVER) The state of Georgia requires an immunization form 3231 for every child. Please submit this form at the time of registration or send via e-mail to Diane Armstrong- Stuckey at dianea@ymcatlanta.org within 1 week of registration. The East Lake YMCA requires a completed registration form and signed YMCA wavier prior to any camper starting any camp program. PAYMENTS AND DUE DATE Due to limited space, pre-registration is required for each week. In order to ensure you have a slot, a $25 per week deposit is required. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable however, it is deducted from your weekly payment. Full payment for each week is due each Wednesday prior to the week of service. If payment in full is not paid by 8:00pm and deposit has been made, the deposit and camp slot will be forfeited. Third-party billing such as CAPS is accepted for our Kinder, Discovery and Explorers Camps ONLY. An active acceptance contract is needed prior to the camper start date. The most convenient way to pay is online. It is fast and easy!

If this occurs, campers will be moving indoors to an available room. The safety and well being of children is always our first priority. POOL/SAFETY Safety is one of the YMCA s most important responsibilities to our members and campers. We operate our 3 6 year old groups at a ratio of 1 adult to 8 students and our 7 and up at a ratio of 1 adult to15 students. In the pool, ratios are lower with the assistance of Y aquatic lifeguard staff. All staff complete several training hours in supervision, age group dynamics and Keeping Kids Safe protocols. All staff are certified in First Aid and CPR.

FOOD/LUNCH Lunch will be provided by a State approved food provider and follow the federal food guidelines. Meals are served either hot or cold, depending on the selection for that day. Monthly menus are available and can be pick-up on the first day of camp. If your child has any dietary restrictions or allergies, please be sure to list them on your child s enrollment form. If you do not wish for their child to eat the provided lunch, you are welcome to provide a lunch for your child. All outside food must be labeled with the child s name and dated. PARENT COMMUNICATIONS In an effort to keep you updated, please make sure that all of your contact information is provided and current. We use weekly newsletters, calling posts and email to share information and updates. On occasion, campers will come home with written materials to share with you about a particular camp activity. If there is a need to communicate with your child s camp counselor, please make schedule arrangements by contacting Diane Armstrong- Stuckey. Contact information is located at the bottom of the last page of this information packet. BEHAVIOR & BULLYING POLICY For the safety and enjoyment of all campers, the YMCA has found it necessary to establish a discipline policy in the event that a camper is disruptive to the camp group or abusive to other campers. One of our goals in camp is to help each camper enjoy the planned activities by understanding that he/she is responsible for his/her actions. Inappropriate behavior of a few children can spoil the experience for the entire group. On the first day of each camp session, children will be informed of the camp rules. In accordance with the severity of the infraction and the number of times it occurs, a camper may: 1) lose the privilege of participating in a specific activity 2) be denied special event privileges 3) be placed on probation from the program 4) be dismissed from the Day Camp program for (but is not limited to): A) Intentionally going to unauthorized areas of the YMCA facility or park B) Refusing to remain with his/her assigned group during activities C) Using foul language D) Being disrespectful to staff and peers E) Fighting F) Refusing to follow camp rules and other basic rules of safety G) Stealing or defacing other camper s belongings No refunds will be given if a camper s behavior results in dismissal

LOST AND FOUND The Y assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen items. We ask that you label all of your child s items and leave all valuable and sentimental items at home. If an item is found it will put away in a designated area for lost and found. ILLNESS Unfortunately, we are not equipped to provide extended care for sick campers. Please do not send campers to camp if they are ill. If your child becomes ill while at camp you will be contacted to have him/her picked up. If your child is on medication prescribed by a doctor, a medication form must be filled out completely in order for a Y staff to administer. Y staff are not allowed to administer over-the-counter medication. ABOUT OUR STAFF Each Y camp counselor is carefully selected from local high schools, colleges and universities. Some camp counselors are elementary and high school teachers. All Y staff complete and successfully pass a background investigation. Pre and ongoing training is conducted before and throughout the summer including CPR, basic first aid and operational procedures for camp activities, positive child discipline, Keeping Kids Safe and various skill development courses. Counselors are taught to encourage campers to do their personal best and assist campers in setting and reaching goals while making sure every camper has a rewarding camp experience. THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING THE Y! We are so excited to have your child participate in our camp and can t wait to begin this great summer adventure. Welcome to the East Lake Y family! QUESTIONS?
