Relax aboard your overnight flights and prepare for the spectacular fun, food and music in Italy. Day 2 Montecatini Arrive in Florence and meet your tour director and board your coach for the short drive to the alpine town of Montecatini. This lovely spa area will be your home for the next five nights. Enjoy some free time on the palm lines street this afternoon. Enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel this evening. (D) Day 3 Florence A full day guided tour of Florence features the historic City Center as well as the Academia Museum, home of Michelangelo s famous sculpture David. You will also tour the Cathedral and other points of interest. Return to Montecatini for dinner. (B,D) Day 4 Venice Depart for Venice this morning. Travel to St. Mark s Square by boat where you will begin your tour. Your walking tour includes Piazza San Marco, the Doge s Palace, Bridge of Sighs and Piombi Prison. Lunch is included today. This afternoon enjoy a gondola ride through the famous canals. Enjoy some free time to explore and shop in one of Italy s unique cities. Return to Montecatini for dinner. (B,L,D) Day 5 Siena and San Gimignano Travel into the heart of Tuscany today. You will visit the wine region of Chianti. In Siena view the Piazza del Campo. You will also see the beautiful medieval towers and walls. Enjoy lunch at a local winery. Later stop in the town of Pisa to visit the world famous Leaning Tower. Next visit the charming hilltop town of San Gimignano. Return to Montecatini for dinner. (B,L,D) Day 6 Tuscany Sightseeing Journey through the Tuscan countryside today passing quaint towns and villages that are over 2000 years old. Visit a local cheese maker and sample some of the local delicacies. Then it is on to the heart of the Chianti region and Castle of Brolio. Here you will learn about the Italian wine making process. Lunch is served along with wine tasting. Then visit Castello di Brolio Winery, one of the oldest in the world to taste their world famous Ricasoli Chianti Classico. Return to the hotel late this afternoon. Dinner is on your own this evening. (B,L)
Day 7 Assisi and Rome Travel south to the beautiful town of Assisi. Here you will visit St. Francis Cathedral. Continue on to the eternal city of Rome. Check into your central Rome hotel for the next three nights. This evening enjoy dinner and entertainment at a local restaurant. (B,D) Day 8 Rome Sightseeing This morning visit the famous monuments and sights of ancient Rome. Sights include the Coliseum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and more. This afternoon visit the modern city of Rome including its museums and cathedrals. Dinner is included. (B,D) Day 9 Vatican Your tour of the Vatican includes St. Peter s Basilica, the famous Sistine Chapel, St. Peter in Chains Chapel and more. Afternoon is free to explore on your own. Dinner is included this evening. (B,D) Day 10 Pompeii, Naples and Sorrento Visit the ancient town of Pompeii to see the well preserved Roman ruins. You will also tour the port city of Naples and continue on to Sorrento and check into your hotel for three nights. Dinner is at your hotel. (B,D) Day 11 Amalfi Coast Today travel along one of the world s most scenic roads as your travel the Amalfi Drive. Stop at the famous resort town of Positano. Continue to the ancient marine republic of Amalfi to see the cathedral. Return to Sorrento for dinner. (B,D) Day 12 Capri Take the ferry to the beautiful Isle of Capri. The town is a noted vacation spot featuring shops and restaurants along winding streets. The main square features a lovely church and open air cafes, perfect for people watching.
