SUMMER DAY CAMPS SPECIALTY CAMPS & TRAVEL CAMP Camp Staff Our enthusiastic, skilled staff are committed to delivering the YMCA values in camp. Counselors are carefully chosen, subject to comprehensive background checks, and certified in CPR and First Aid. Our staff attend camp-specific trainings to ensure camper safety and a quality summer program. Counselors become mentors to campers and help them with problem-solving, communication, compromise, sportsmanship, and so much more. Day Camp & Little Explorers Campers enjoy swimming and daily group activities with children their own age. Special camp rotations are led by experienced staff in sports, arts and crafts, team building, performing arts, science, nature, and group games. Weekly activities, including a special event or trip, are coordinated with that week s theme. Camp gives your child the opportunity to: Learn new skills Have fun outdoors Gain confidence Make new friends Be part of a team Entering Kindergarten Weeks 1-11 LY only Grades 1-7 Weeks 1-11 Weeks 1, 10, 11 Weeks 2-9 Weeks 2-10 LY BH SPF Leader In Training (LIT) Let us help your child develop sound decision-making skills by providing challenging and fun character-building experiences. LITs enjoy all the fun of camp with their peers while also demonstrating leadership skills by planning and teaching camp activities to younger campers. An application, two letters of reference, and an interview are required for approval and registration in the LIT program. Grades 8-11 Weeks 2-11 Weeks 2-11 Weeks 3-10 LY Off-site SPF (Day, Little Explorers, LIT Camps) Science Camp We encourage our campers to explore, experiment, ask questions, and try lots of new things. Let your child s curiosity emerge while letting them have the opportunity to strengthen their problem-solving skills in camp. Weeks 3, 6, 9 (grades 1-4) Week 6 (grades 1-4) BH Week 7 (grades 5-8) BH Art Camp Let s create! This camp provides a great opportunity to get messy while your child creates a variety of hands-on projects. Painting, drawing and sculpting are just a few of the mediums we will explore. Weeks 2, 5, 8, 10 (grades 1-4) Week 3 (grades 1-4) BH Week 5 (grades 5-8) BH Brick Camp Kids experience the hands-on fun of model building, from concept to completion, while using Legos, K nex, Lincoln Logs, and more. We will help campers foster teamwork and collaboration, while building with our imagination. Come join us for daily trips to places like Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, Wildwood Beach and Boardwalk, Go Ape-Zip Line and Tree Top Adventure, Sahara Sam s, Arnold s Family Fun Center, and the movies. This small group setting offers opportunities to build friendships, develop team building and have a world of FUN! Transportation and admission fees are included in camp fees. SPORTS & SPORTS SPECIALTY CAMPS Sports Camp Basketball Camp Whether your child is passionate about a favorite sport or just likes to play on a team, sports camp is the best way to keep them active! Our YMCA Sports Camp is a place for kids to participate in a variety of sports including: flag football, soccer, wiffle ball, basketball, kickball, and team handball. We will help your child enjoy the excitement of sports in a supportive environment based on teamwork and sportsmanship. Sports Camp is designed to teach basic fundamentals and knowledge of sports through fun instruction and drills. Campers will utilize the skills they learned in daily games. Family sports events will round out the summer fun. Weeks 2-10 (grades 3-7) Campers will participate in multiple drills to work on dribbling, passing, defense, rebounding, and shooting. Daily scrimmages allow campers to use their new skills in a game setting. Week 6 (grades 3-4) Week 7 (grades 5, 6, 7) at ETR Middle School at ETR Middle School REGISTRATION INFORMATION Fishing Camp at Let s get hooked! Fishing camp provides the opportunity to develop skills such as; baiting, casting, reeling, and fishing with different types of tackle. Water and fishing safety are practiced throughout each day. Join us for weekly trips to Ridley Lake, Furey Park, Drexel Lodge Park, Ridley Marina, and John Heinz Refuge to catch the BIG ones. We release all fish caught by our campers.
