Notes from your Condo President The Board of Directors voted to hire an engineering firm to oversee the bidding process for two roofs to be done this spring. Annual financial statements for 2014 should be out by April. 1411#6 is ready to rent. This is a unit that we received title to. We had an accident involving a porch post. The bottom bracket came loose. If everyone could give theirs a good tug and make sure theirs is secure. If they seem loose please let the management company know. One of our fellow owners cleared her bushes of Spanish moss and air plants (as I call them). She wanted to put out information that these are harmful to bushes and if other owners could remove any from their bushes it would benefit all. We have had several roof leaks this month. We take all reports of leaks as high priority. Please notify the management company as soon as a leak is found, no matter how small. The state code for BBQ grills is 10 feet from the building and 25 feet from any building air intake. Placing a BBQ grill under a tree is not against code, but it is not advisable. Keep all flames away from under any low hanging trees or close to other vegetation would be the recommended practice. The Board of Directors is putting together a folder with all the Rules and Amendments approved by past Board of Directors or Owners. The folder in the Office isn't complete. If you have copies of any Rules or Amendments that were approved by the Board or Owners would you please put them in a envelope with your name and address on it and put in the mail slot in the Office Door. We will return your copies to you. Submitted by: Rob Tolley, President Normandy Park Oaks Notes on Basic Condo Living Information Box of air : When you buy a condo, you do not own the land beneath the building, you simply share an interest in it. Instead, you own the space between the walls of your unit, and share ownership of the common areas with other owners. Page 4
