ITINERARY Day 1 - Saturday, September 21: Bar Harbor, ME St. Stephen, New Brunswick (70 NM) Follow the rocky Atlantic coast over the Acadia National Park and fly over the Bay of Fundy to St. John to clear customs. We will then fly to St Stephen to get settled for a cocktail and lodging in the beautiful town of St Andrews-by-the-Sea. Hotel: Hotel Algonquin (facing the ocean) Cocktail and Dinner included Day 2 Sunday, September 22: St. Andrews By-the-Sea Enjoy the tranquility of the seashore and the invigorating air of the ocean. Experience the world s highest tides and inhale fresh salt air on a whale and wildlife watching tour on the Bay of Fundy. Finback, Minke and Humpback whales, porpoises, dolphins and seals are regularly encountered on these trips. Hotel: Hotel Algonquin Day 3 Monday, September 23: St. Stephen Charlottetown (185 NM) Fly over the Southern part of the Gulf of St Lawrence, see below an unusual geology of beautiful farmland and red soil. There will be time this afternoon to visit Historic Charlottetown on your own. Stroll the boardwalk (1.5 miles) that will take you along the shoreline from the shopping and restaurants at Peake's Quay to Charlottetown's biggest green space, Victoria Park. Hotel: Holman Grand Hotel Day 4 Tuesday, September 24: Charlottetown Discover the Birthplace of Canada. Enjoy a half-day tour with a visit to historic downtown Charlottetown, PEI Preserves in New Glasgow, the quaint coastal fishing village of North Rustico and the famous PEI National Park - home of Cavendish and Anne of Green Gables. The afternoon is at leisure. Optional activities include kayaking, biking, seal watching, golfing or take an afternoon tour to discover the North Shore of Prince Edward Island. Day 5 Wednesday, September 25: Charlottetown Sydney (130 NM) Today we will fly to Sydney on Cape Breton Island. We ll pick up rental cars at the airport for our visit here. Situated high on a cliff surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and a view of majestic Cape Smokey rising out of the sea, the Keltic Lodge Resort and Spa is a prime location to explore the Cabot Trail. Enjoy Cape Breton Highlands National Park hiking trails, sea kayaking, mountain biking and more! Hotel: Keltic Lodge Day 6 - Thursday, September 26: Cape Breton Enjoy the day exploring on your own. Day 9 Sunday, September 29: Halifax Bangor, ME (226 NM) Day 8 Saturday, September 28: Halifax Step back in time to the days of the whalers. We ll enjoy a tour of the city to learn about its history. Then we ll wander in the Maritime Museum where you ll see the stunning display of artifacts from the Titanic. Learn about a lesser known maritime disaster when an ammunition ship blew up and leveled the town. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included It s time to say goodbye for those returning home. Optional Extension Halifax: Day 9 Sunday, September 29: Halifax Full day to discover Peggy s Cove, Luneburg and visit Halifax the world s second largest natural harbor after Sydney, Australia and site of the world s third oceanographic research center: The Bedford Institute of Oceanography. In Halifax, there are many things to do but we recommend to take a view from the Citadel, visit the historic site at Pier 21, where nearly half a million troops departed in World War II and over a million immigrants first entered Canada and save some time for the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. (Titanic. 2h/3h). Day 10 Monday, September 30: Halifax Bangor, ME (226NM) Follow the rugged but spectacular Atlantic lined with lighthouses before crossing the Gulf of Maine. Every effort will be made to operate tours as planned, but alterations may occur after the final itinerary has been issued. Our quoted prices include planning, handling and operational charges; they are based on current rates of exchange, tariffs and taxes as of September 2012. Air Journey reserves the right to increase tour prices to cover increased costs, tariffs and taxes, and to reflect fluctuations in foreign exchange markets. Air Journey has quoted this itinerary with a minimum participation of 5 airplanes. Passports are mandatory for this Journey. The Registration fee includes: Extensive Navigation log (airports, route, frequencies, information of airspace, nav-aids, reporting points, international flight plan) tailored for each aircraft; Flight plans and eapis manifest (departure and arrival) filed on your behalf; Pilot briefing prior to each day s flight; Weather website with constant updates showing TAF, METAR, Wind Aloft, prognostic forecast and review; Fuel availability confirmed along the route of flight; VFR charts, IFR low or high en route (based on aircraft type and pilot s preferences); Flight bag and collared, cotton shirt for the pilot with his name and aircraft tail number embroidered on the upper front. Shirts are available for passengers and crew at an additional cost. Cancellation, refunds: a) Cancellation by the client: Is always required in writing and is subject to the following schedule of dates, whereby some or all moneys paid will be retained: i) Given outside of 60 days of departure: AJ retains $500 per person and plane registration fee ii) Between 60 and 45 days of departure: AJ retains 50% of tour cost and plane registration fee iii) Between 44 and 30 days of departure: AJ retains 75% of tour cost and plane registration fee iv) Less than 30 days or no show of departure: AJ retains 100% of tour cost and plane registration fee b) Cancellation by AJ: Should AJ cancel the tour after deposits have been received due to fewer than the minimum participants required, the full deposit will be refunded. Should AJ cancel the tour at any time due to factors beyond their control (including war, flood, force of nature, riot, civil action), they will refund the client whatever portion of moneys are reimbursed by ground operators and accommodation suppliers. Travel and Cancellation Insurance Travel and Cancellation Insurance is strongly recommended and not included in the package but it can be purchased from Air Journey for approximately 6% of the cost of the Journey.
