Istanbul (former as Constantinople) is located in Turkey, which is capital of many historical empires such as Eastern Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire and Ottoman Empire. Hagia Sophia was former Christian Church, former Greek Orthodox patriarchal basilica, former Roman Catholic Cathedral and former imperial mosque. Turkey Istanbul Sultan Ahmed Mosque Sultan Ahmed Mosque (or Blue Mosque) is a historic mosque. Interior of mosque contains big columns and stained glasses.
