INCENTIVES A CLIMATE FOR OPPORTUNITY New Mexico offers one of the best climates in the nation. With 310 days of sunshine a year, low humidity and rare extreme weather conditions. JTIP The state of the New Mexico offers businesses Job Training Incentive Programs (JTIP). This is a employee training funding program. JTIP will fund classroom training through a public education institution as well as on the job training. In addition to classroom training costs, JTIP will reimburse 50 to 75% of employee wages. LEDA Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) funding is available to targeted industries including advanced manufacturing, logistics, distribution and transportation to help stimulate economic development efforts. CNM WORKFORCE TRAINING Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) offers extensive training and professional development courses and programs through the WORKforce Training program. Through this program, employers have access to customized job training, industry training and professional certifications. The training can be organized on site or at the CNM facilities. FOREIGN TRADE ZONE ELIGIBILITY The Sunport South site is eligibile for designation as a Foreign Trade Zone. As a FTZ designated site, there are many benefits to operating at Sunport South. These benefits include waiving of U.S. duties and excise taxes for merchandise held or transported from the site. 10
