The airport experienced positive passenger growth for the 32nd consecutive month with respect to the year over year monthly increases. In January 2018, RNO was served by nine airlines providing 1,730 departures to 22 nonstop destinations (23 nonstop destinations if seasonal new announced flights are included). At RNO, total seat capacity increased 10.8% and flights increased 5.7% when compared to January 2017. RNO, handled 11,795,775 pounds of air cargo in January 2018, a decrease of 7.5% when compared to January 2017. Starting April 10, 2018, Frontier Airlines will begin nonstop flights between Reno and Austin, Texas. The new flight will operate twice week, Tuesday and Friday, on a 180seat Airbus 320 aircraft. Starting April 9, 2018, Frontier will increase the number of flights between Reno and Denver from three times week to four times a week. The airline will offer this flight on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday

In January 2018, Allegiant Air reported a passenger increase of 45.8%, United Airlines was up 26.7%, Delta Air Lines grew 18.0% and American Airlines reported an increase of 13.9% versus January 2017. JetBlue s passenger traffic was down 16.5%, Alaska Airlines was down 10.6% and Volaris reported a decrease of 9.5% during the same period. FedEx was down 10.1% and UPS reported a decrease of 7.8% during the same period.

Recent and Upcoming Schedule Changes Alaska Airlines On March 11, 2018, Alaska Airlines increased the number of nonstop flights between Reno and Portland from twice a day to three times a day. The airline reduced the number of flights on this route temporarily during the first quarter of 2018. American Airlines American Airlines offers nonstop semiseasonal flights between Reno and Chicago O Hare International Airport six to seven days a week. The airline will not offer this flight from April 3, 2018, through May 3, 2018. American Airlines increased the number of daily flights between Reno and Phoenix from three to four flights a day from February 15, 2018, through May 3, 2018. On May 4, the airline will add another daily flight on this route. American Airlines will increase the number of daily flights between Reno and Los Angeles from four to five flights a day from April 4, 2018, through June 6, 2018. Starting May, 5, 2018, American Airlines will increase the number of daily flights between Reno and Dallas from twice a day to three times a day. Delta Air Lines Delta Air Lines nonstop seasonal (ski) flight between Reno and Atlanta operates on weekends only. This flight will be temporarily suspended on April 2, 2018. JetBlue Airways The nonstop flight between Reno and New York City operates five days a week, Thursday through Monday. United Airlines United Airlines nonstop seasonal flight between Reno and Houston will operate daily from February 15, 2018, through April 8, 2018. United Airlines nonstop seasonal flight between Reno and Chicago O Hare will operate on weekends only until April 1, 2018. Starting April 9, 2018, United Airlines will increase the number of daily flights between Reno and Los Angeles from one flight a day to twice a day. Southwest Airlines Starting April 9, 2018, Southwest Airlines will increase the number of daily flights between Reno and Las Vegas from nine flights a day to 10 flights a day. On March 8, 2018, Southwest Airlines reduced the number of daily flights between Reno and San Jose from twice a day to once a day. Starting March 8, 2018, Southwest Airlines increased the number of daily flights between Reno and Denver from one flight a day to twice a day. Volaris The nonstop flight between Reno and Guadalajara, Mexico operates on Mondays and Fridays.
