PRESS KIT G20 Meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers 20-21 May 2018 San Martín Palace, Buenos Aires WELCOME Welcome to the G20 Meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers. In this kit you will find a list of meeting participants, the agenda, information highlights, the contact list and the G20 events calendar. The Meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers is the third ministerial meeting of G20 Argentina 2018, following the first two meetings of finance ministers and central bank governors. The meeting will take place at San Martín Palace in Buenos Aires. Participants will include the foreign ministers from G20 countries and invited guests as well as representatives of international organizations to address some of the most relevant issues on the international agenda.

HIGHLIGHTS The main actors on the international scene The G20 Meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers is the first since the meeting in Bonn in February 2017, and the third in the history of the group (after Bonn and Los Cabos, in 2012). In addition to Argentine Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie, the confirmed list attendees includes foreign ministers Wang Yi of China, Heiko Maas of Germany, Taro Kono of Japan, Sergey Lavrov of Russia and UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson. Dinner with an open agenda The first segment of the G20 Meeting of Foreign Ministers will be a working dinner at San Martín Palace, the event venue. There will not be a pre-defined agenda and the foreign ministers will have the opportunity to bring the issues of their greatest concern to the discussion table. The path of multilateralism In the first part of the agenda on Monday 21 May, the ministers will discuss cooperation between countries and the role of international organizations. Priorities of the Argentine G20 presidency During the second plenary session, ministers will focus on the necessary actions to achieve fair and sustainable development. In this context, they will work on the three priorities chosen by the Argentine G20 presidency for 2018: the future of work, infrastructure for development and a sustainable food future. Foreign ministers agenda On the sidelines of the G20 meeting, foreign ministers will hold bilateral meetings starting on Sunday at midday. Troika press conference At the conclusion of the meeting there will be a press conference held by the G20 troika, comprised by the previous, current, and upcoming presidencies. Ministers Faurie of Argentina, Maas of Germany, and Kono of Japan will present the main achievements of the meeting. There will be no official communiqué. CONTACT
