Welcome to Woodclose Park Accessibility Statement This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors. Introduction We are a Visit Britain 5 Star holiday park set in the beautiful Lune Valley just over the River Lune less than a mile from Kirkby Lonsdale. The park is well laid out in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with a number of hardstanding pitches for tourers, secluded camping/wigwam field, self catering flat and over 80 pitches for Holiday Homes and Lodges. The outlying fields provide habitats for a rich variety of animals, birds, flora and fauna. 1. General Information Park roadways are all of well-maintained tarmac with a number of speed humps at various points and a speed limit of 10 MPH. Roadways also serve as pedestrian ways. Assistance dogs are very welcome with a level public bridleway within 30 metres of the touring/camping areas (dog waste bins in situ. We look forward to welcoming you. Visiting Us A car is the easiest form of transport to Woodclose but we can be approached via buses and trains. For comprehensive travel information call Traveline 0871 200 22 33. We advise you plan your journey with an online route planner. By Train The nearest railway station is Oxenholme, 11.4miles or Ribblehead, 12.3miles Detailed station information can be found online: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations_destinations/oxn.aspx. Mainline connections from Carlisle and Lancaster operated by Virgin Trains and First Transpennine connecting to services including London, Edinburgh, Manchester and Glasgow. Taxis are available at the station. If you require an accessible taxi this can be booked in advance. By Bus The bus would drop you off in Kirkby Lonsdale town centre which is 0.8 mile from Woodclose and a taxi could be pre-booked (numbers are listed above) to bring you the rest of the way. Route numbers are: 567 Kendal - Kirkby Lonsdale 580, 581 - Buses from Skipton to Settle and Kirkby Lonsdale return 81 Lancaster - Hornby - Kirkby Lonsdale.

By Car Full details and map can be found at - http://www.woodclosepark.com/find-us Woodclose Caravan Park is 6 miles via the A65 from Junction 36 of the M6 (14 miles via A683 from Junction 34), and no more than ½ mile from the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale. MAP OF PARK 3. Car Parking and Arrival Entry to the park is through gates which are closed between 12 midnight and 7 am. Should emergency access be required there is an out of hours staff calling system in operation via the public telephone situated in the main facilities building along the central corridor. Please note this service is free. On arrival visitors are requested to follow the signs and park just before the touring field entrance and booking at reception. This is a tarmac surface with a slight gradient to the reception entrance

4. Reception Reception is located in the main building and also contains the shop they are both accessed via a 25mm step. The entrance is a set of double opening doors which when fully opened provides an opening of 110cm in width. The counter is a height of 100cm, seating can be provided if required and a clipboard for writing if necessary. There is a non slip mat at the entrance in reception. The main area reception lighting is fluorescent tube with spotlights behind the counter. We offer a hearing loop system for deaf and hard of hearing customers. Reception is open every day, please see the reception door for details on how to contact a member of staff when the reception is closed. The reception/shop is well laid out and very accessible.

5. Touring Facilities Parking for one car is provided alongside all our Touring Pitches. The pitches are all level with twenty one hard standings and four grass. Seventeen hard standing pitches and two grass pitches are supplied with electric, water, grey waste drain and television hook-up points. Four hard standing pitches are supplied with electric, water and television hook-up points, with grey waste point twenty yards from the pitch. Pitches can be booked on line and are allocated according to the length of the unit. However 6 hardstanding and four grass pitches are not available on line. Bookings can also be taken via telephone and staff can advise on location and suitability for individual requirements. The main reception and facilities building is located next to the main touring area with level access via a gravelled road and tiled path. 6. Glamping Pods Our sturdy wooden camping pods sleep up to five people (please discuss with staff as to ease of use with a disability). They are comfortably equipped with foam mattresses 46cm off the ground and 90cm wide which make a sleeping platform of 280cm wide. Each Glamping pod is provided with lighting and heating (panel heater attached to the wall). The entrance door is 75cm clear with a threshold lip of 5cm and door handle 100cm high.

Our Lune River II Glamping Pod has ensuite shower facilities with entrance door to the pod 59cm opening to 117cm clear with a step including threshold lip of 19cm with an inside threshold lip of 3cm and door handle outside from the decking 12cm high and inside 10cm. The ensuite entrance door is 60cm. Our Lune River I have ensuite toilet facilities with entrance door to the pod 80cm clear with a threshold lip of 6.5cm and door handle from decking of 130cm high and inside 90cm. The ensuite entrance door is 60cm The approach to the Glamping Pods is via a gravelled path and wooden raised decking 2 x 20cm steps off the ground.

The Glamping Pod toilet block and private shower room This facility is based within the car parking area for the glamping pods and is 37 metres from entrance to the glamping field from the car park. There is a 18cm step up onto decking area of the toilets and the entrance door is 70cm clear with a threshold lip of 15.5cm with an inside threshold lip of 2.5cm and door handle external 112cm high and internal height of 100cm. The private shower room entrance door is 70cm clear with a threshold lip of 15.5cm and inside threshold lip fo 2.5cm and door handle external 112cm high and internal height of 100cm. 7. Self Catering Flat There is one self catering flat available for weekly hire suitable for 2 adults and 2 children with one double room and one sofa bed and pet friendly. The flat has a large open plan living area, fully equipped modern kitchen, one bedroom with double bed and sofa bed in lounge area and a modern bathroom. To the exterior there is a private patio area and car parking space. The approach to the flat is via a flat gravel parking area and step 30cm high. The entrance door is 75cm clear with a threshold lip of 4cm and door handle 107cm high.

8. Toilet, washing, laundry and waste disposal Facilities The showers, toilets, dishwashing, laundry, reception, shop and waste disposal areas all have level access within the same building which is centrally heated. One of the family shower/toilet rooms is designed and fitted with shower seat, grab handles and low level clothing hooks to assist people with a disability or poor mobility. Entrance doors to the facilities (door width 75cm) are accessed with individual security code (door lock height 123cm), door handles height is 100cm. All floors are tiled with non slip tiles with ceiling lights 25cm diameter.

Laundry Access is on a slight decline with level paving slabs. is 75cm clear with a threshold lip of 2.5cm and door handle 110cm high. The floor is tiled with non slip tiles with ceiling lights 25cm diameter. There are two washing machines and two dryers. One washing machine is a front loader with the handle 60cm high, and one dryer is a front loader with door handle 166cm high. There is one washing machine and one dryer top loader and 93cm high. The iron is coin operated and accessible from a standing position with an adjustable ironing board. There is a coin operating hair dryer and hair straighteners on a shelf 153cm high.

9. Grounds and Gardens Park roadways are all of well-maintained tarmac with a number of speed humps and are adequately well lit throughout so as not to cause light pollution. Roadways also serve as pedestrian ways. There are eight communal water points distributed across the park. The public footpath which runs along the boundary of the park is undulating and gravel surface. The children s play area is located opposite the main reception building and accessed via a grassed area and is designed to suit most children from nursery upwards with a range of equipment set in a base of rubber matting. The multi-play equipment includes a slide, climbing frame and monkey bars. 10. Emergency Procedures A public phone is located within the main facilities building with level access and fixed at a height acceptable for health and safety reasons (130cm). Mobile telephone reception is good in this area and variable elsewhere on the park. All accommodation has smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and fire extinguishers. There is an emergency pull cord in the accessible toilet.

12. Additional Information Park management team has undergone Visit England Disability awareness training. There is a Dog welcome bag and welcome pack issued on arrival. Wi-fi is available and can be purchased on-line whilst on park via a third party. Local emergency contact numbers are detailed below with a full list displayed on the notice board outside reception.
