Itinerary 16 & 17 Sep: UK-Tokyo Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Tokyo. (Non-UK passengers should make their own flight arrangements). Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Tokyo by private coach. 18 Sep: Shinjuku /Akihabara Today we start with an orientation of Shinjuku visiting local hotspots including Square Enix Show Case. Then we spend the rest of the day visiting Akihabara Tokyo's Electric Town and home to dozens of electronic goods stores. Heaven! 19 Sep: Harajuku, Meiji Shrine & Nakano Broadway Visit beautiful Meiji Shrine and wacky Harajuku nearby. Move on to the Omotesando and Takeshita Street a great place for shopping and people watching. In the afternoon we visit Nakano Broadway where you can find all manner of collectible and retro games and plenty of memorabilia. 20 Sep: Tokyo at leisure Optional Trips (Tokyo Disneyland or Mt Fuji & Hakone) Today is yours to enjoy at leisure, or, you may want to join one of our Optional trips. The first is a day out to the magical world of Tokyo Disneyland. The second is a fully-guided tour to Mt. Fuji and the beautiful nearby resort of Hakone, returning to Tokyo by Bullet Train. Lunch Included. 21 Sep: Odaiba Enjoy a fun packed day in the futuristic district of Odaiba located in Tokyo Bay. Spend time gaming at Sega Joypolis the largest indoor gaming theme park in Japan. Move on to Leisure Land a huge entertainment complex complete with more games arcades, bowling alleys, a ninja illusion house and much more. Nearby is Toyota Megaweb - a gigantic car showroom featuring cars of the past as well as the future. 22 Sep: Tokyo Game Show 2018 Today s the day! Visit the Tokyo Game Show 2018. We will provide you with all the information you need to travel around Japan independently. 24 Sept: Tokyo-Kyoto Check out of your Tokyo hotel with the rest of the Tokyo Game Show Group. Spend a leisurely morning in Tokyo before boarding Japan's world-famous Bullet Train and speed to Kyoto, the traditional and cultural heart of Japan. Check into your superbly located, spotless 3* hotel (2 nights). We will provide you with a 7 Day Japan Rail Pass for travel over the next few days. This gives you unlimited access to the entire Japan Rail (JR) network, including Bullet Train (Shinkansen) services. 25 Sept: Kyoto sightseeing Join a seated coach tour for sightseeing in Kyoto. The tour is guided, lunch is included, and sights include Nijo Castle, the beautiful Golden Pavilion and Kiyomizu-dera, a lovely mountainside temple boasting stunning views over the city. 26 Sept: Kyoto-Miyajima Check out of your hotel and board the Bullet Train bound for Hiroshima. Continue by local train and ferry to the lovely island of Miyajima. Check into your ryokan for 1 night. A ryokan is a traditional Japanese inn where you'll sleep on a futon on a tatami mat floor. A delicious Japanese dinner (included) will be served to you. Enjoy the sights of this peaceful island. You can walk round the island in the evening wearing your cotton yukata (a robe provided in your room). 27 Sept: Miyajima & Hiroshima sightseeing, return to Kyoto After breakfast at your ryokan, head back to the mainland and visit Hiroshima's moving Peace Memorial Park, Museum and Atomic Bomb Dome. Later this afternoon board the Bullet Train back to Kyoto. Check into your hotel for 3 nights. 28 Sept: Nara sightseeing Self-guided excursion to the nearby city of Nara, Japan's first permanent capital and home to eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites. 29 Sept: Osaka/Kyoto Today is yours at leisure. You may wish to take a day trip to Osaka, Japan's lively second city or do some further sightseeing in Kyoto 30 Sept: Depart Japan Sadly, it's time to say goodbye to Japan...until next time!
