Also, it is a very important day for Irish people who live around the world. The history of St. Patrick is very interesting. St. Patrick was born at the end of the 4th century in Britain. When he was 16 years old, pirates kidnapped St. Patrick. Then he was a slave in Ireland. He was very sad and he starts studying the Bible. He could escape to France but he decided to go to Ireland again. He helped Irish people. He constructed schools and churches for people. Irish people admire St. Patrick. Nowadays, people celebrate St. Patrick's Day all around the country. In lots of cities and villages, there are parades, dances and big meals. Lots of shops are decorated with green decorations. On St. Patrick's Day, people usually wear green clothes. Green is the National colour of Ireland. Also, green is the colour of the Shamrock, one of the most important symbols in Ireland. The Shamrock is a plant with three leaves. St. Patrick's Day is fantastic! 2
