The two events will be held at the Singapore Aviation Academy. The ICAO Asia and Pacific Office is pleased to extend an invitation to each State/ Administration/Organization in the Asia and Pacific Regions to attend the AP AC-AIG/5 Meeting and the Regional Workshop. The APAC-AIG/5 Meeting will, among others, discuss the establishing of independent accident investigation authorities and improving Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) AIG effective implementation rate, and will update the work plan to enhance the accident/incident investigation capability in the Asia and Pacific Regions. The Provisional Agenda of the APAC-AIG/5 Meeting is in Attachment A. In order to make the meeting more productive and effective, it is strongly urged that States/ Administrations/Organizations submit papers for the meeting via email to AP AC@.ieao. int no later than two weeks prior to the meeting date. ICAO is moving towards a 'paperless' meeting environment by increasing use of electronic media for the distribution of meeting papers and reports. Agenda Item 2: ESTABLISHMENT OF INDEPENDENT ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION AUTHORITY States/Administrations will be sharing their experiences on the recent developments in their accident investigation units in meeting ICAO s new requirement that States shall establish an independent accident investigation authority. Agenda Item 3: IMPROVING USOAP AIG EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION RATE States/Administrations will review the initiatives to assist and guide States/Administrations to improve their USOAP AIG effective implementation rate. Agenda Item 4: ENHANCING ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION CAPABILITIES The meeting will discuss initiatives in the provision of training/guidance to help States/ Administrations develop the technical expertise of their investigators, and State/Administrations may offer training opportunities. Agenda Item 5: REGIONAL COOPERATION The meeting will review cooperative efforts in the APAC region, and State/Administrations may share their cooperation experiences in recent accident investigations or offer cooperation opportunities.
