For 2006 its population number comprises 131.4 ths. persons, it occupies 1235 ha Ajapnyak The community has common borders with Davtashen, Arabkir, Kentron and Malatia- Sebastia communities. By outer boundery it borders with RA Armavir, Aragatsotn and Kotayk marzes. It includes Vahagni, Silikyan, Anastasavan and Norashen districts. For 2006 its population number comprises 106.8 ths. persons, and it occupies 2568 ha Avan The community has common borders with Arabkir, Nor Nork, Kanaker-Zeytun communities. It includes Avan-Arinj, Narekaci, Hovhannisyan, Isahakyan and Tumanyan housing blocks, Aghi hanq and Avan districts. 189

For 2006 its population number comprises 40.4 ths. persons and it occupies 671 ha Erebuni The community has common borders with Kentron, Nor Nork, Nork-Marash, Shengavit and Nubarashen communities. It includes Nor Butania, Nor Aresh, Argishti, Erebuni housing blocks, Sari tagh, Mushavan and Jrashen. By outer boundery it borders with RA Kotayk and Ararat marzes. For 2006 its population number comprises 119.8 ths. persons and it occupies 4841 ha Kentron The community has common borders with Arabkir, Ajapnyak, Erebuni, Malatia- Sebastia, Nor Nork, Nork-Marash, Shengavit, Kanaker-Zeytun communities. It includes Kond, Dsoragyugh and Aygestan. For 2006 number of population comprises 129.7 ths. persons, it occupies 1420 ha Malatia-Sebastia The community has common borders with Ajapnyak, Kentron and Shengavit communities. It includes Andranik district, Araratyan block, Nor Sebastia, Nor Kilikia, Haghtanak and Spandaryan districts. By outer boundery it borders with RA Ararat and Armavir marzes. For 2006 the number of population comprises 140.6 ths. persons and it occupies 2580 ha Nor Nork The community has common borders with Avan, Kentron, Erebuni, Nork-Marash and Kanaker-Zeytun communities. For 2006 its population number comprises 143.8 ths. persons and it occupies 1447 ha Nork-Marash The community has common borders with Kentron, Erebuni, Shengavit communities. It is the largest city not only among the present-day 48 cities of the Republic of Armenia but also among the capitals of historical Armenia. Yerevan is the residence of the president of the Republic of Armenia. RA National Assembly and the Government, all the ministries and principal departments, public and other organizations, different unions, foundations, commissions, legal-juridical bodies, the overwhelming majority of banks and exchanges, the large part of mass media are situated in the capital. The offices of representatives of international (intergovernmental, interstate) and other organizations in the Republic of Armenia are functioning in the capital. Yerevan is the largest economical center of the republic. Manufacturing is the main, principal trend of multibranch industry. In 2006 the share of economy main branches of the capital in total volume of correspondent branches of the republic comprised 191

industry 44.6%, agriculture 1.0%, construction 82.5%, trade 86.0%, services 87.1%. The main trends of industry are manufacture of food products, including alcoholic beverages and chemical and metallurgy industry. Agriculture is mainly specialized in animal husbandry and plant growing. Freight and passenger transportations in the marz are implemented by passenger, freight, air and electric transports.
