DESERT SANDS Symphonic Winds Paul Bluto / John Freeman / Michael Fleischmann / Guy Lake, Directors SPAIN & FRANCE 2017 Tour Produced By: World Projects Corporation Deborah Gibbs, CEO Saul Charlesworth, Senior Production Manager Current as of January 6, 2016 Barcelona Paris July 6 July 15, 2017

DESERT SANDS Symphonic Winds 2017 SPAIN & FRANCE PERFORMANCE TOUR July 6 15, 2017 (itinerary details are subject to change) As of: January 6, 2016 DAY ONE: Thursday, July 6, 2017 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DEPARTURE Time TBD Arrive at airport TBD at least 3 hours prior to departure (likely LAX note: as air seats become available in Aug./Sept. 2016, WP will look at closer airports such as Palm Springs or Ontario) meet your World Projects Tour Manager who will assist with check in and travel with you throughout the tour. After checking in your luggage and instruments, move through security onto the departure gate. Depart for Barcelona, Spain - there will be a change of plane en route. Depending on the size of the group, Desert Sands may be split between several flights and/or several airlines. DAY TWO: Friday, July 7, 2017 Arrive BARCELONA (D) Time TBD Arrive into Barcelona, Spain! Pass through immigration and collect your luggage and proceed with customs formalities. You will be met by your local Tour Escorts who will travel with you throughout the tour. Designed and built by the famous architect Gaudi, Parc Guell often seems like light relief and is for many his best-loved and most accessible work. Although it's now officially a public park, in 1900 the Parc Guell began as a real estate venture. Spread over several acres of woodland high above central Barcelona, with wonderful views at every turn, the Parc Guell is one of the most unusual manmade landscapes on the planet. It is abundant with the architect's unique vision and expertise at finding creative solutions posed by the demands of the project. Enjoy a guided tour of Barcelona highlights to include Montjuic (home of the 1992 Olympic Stadium and wonderful views of Barcelona), Plaza Catalunya and entrance to Parc Guell one of Gaudi s famous creations. Transfer and check in to a local 3-star hotel (TBC). Enjoy a Welcome Dinner as a group in Barcelona.

DAY THREE: Saturday, July 8, 2017 BARCELONA (B,D) After breakfast, enjoy a guided walking tour of La Rambla and the Gothic Quarter highlights to include the Cathedral, old Roman walls, and of course La Rambla. Afternoon Lunch on your own in Barcelona. After lunch, visit Gaudi s stunning La Sagrada Familia, which was left unfinished at his death in 1926. This remarkable church displays Gaudi s trademark organic style, and is the symbol of Barcelona s individualism, housing an exhibition of the building s history and the burial place of Gaudí in the church s crypt. Dinner as a group in Barcelona. DAY FOUR: Sunday, July 9, 2017 BARCELONA (B,D) Performance #1 This morning enjoy a flamenco lesson at a local dance studio. Flamenco is a form of Spanish folk music and dance from the region of Andalusia in southern Spain. It includes cante (singing), toque (guitar playing), baile (dance) and palmas (handclaps). First mentioned in literature in 1774, the genre grew out of Andalusian and Romani music and dance styles. Afternoon Lunch on your own in Barcelona. After lunch, return to the hotel to collect your instruments and change in to performance attire. Transfer to an outdoor performance venue in Barcelona (TBC). PERFORMANCE as part of the Música als Parcs (Music in the Parks) program this annual concert series of well-known and well-attended concerts is sponsored by the city of Barcelona to bring good quality music to the people of Barcelona venues could include Parc Ciutedella, Parc Barceloneta, or similar. Following the concert, pack up and return to the hotel. Dinner as a group and this evening is free.

DAY FIVE: Monday, July 10, 2017 BARCELONA (B,D) Performance #2 This morning enjoy some time in the sun and in the water at Barcelona s popular Barceloneta beach. Afternoon Lunch on your own in Barcelona. After lunch, return to the hotel to collect your performance attire and instruments. Transfer to this evening s performance venue possibly the L' Auditori Cornella (TBC). Upon arrival, there will be time for a rehearsal. Dinner as a group nearby the venue. Return to the venue to change in to your performance attire. PERFORMANCE in conjunction with a local band at the L' Auditori Cornella (TBC). The L' Auditori Cornella is located in the Cornellà de Llobregatand neighbourhood is frequently used for public performances, exhibitions and events. The audience capacity is upwards of 830 seats and the stage can be manipulated for a variety of presentations including instrumental groups, choirs, theatre etc. After the concert, return to the hotel. DAY SIX: Tuesday, July 11, 2017 BARCELONA PARIS (B,D) Morning Breakfast as a group at the hotel (or possible box breakfast). Load your instruments on to the instrument truck which will meet you in Paris this evening. Check out of the hotel, load the coaches and depart for Barcelona Sants train station. Arrive and board the train. Depart via the TGV high speed train for Paris. Afternoon Lunch on your own en route. Early Afternoon Arrive into Paris Gare de Lyon and disembark. Meet your local coaches and board. Paris is unique in that it is a major global city -- home to more than 10 million people in the greater region -- yet it manages to synthesize the rhythms of village life with those of a cosmopolitan world capital. Although the city is a center of European commerce, many shops are closed on Sundays, leaving time for lazy brunches or shopping excursions at a local market. Paris is the capital of fashion, art, and people-watching; a city where Chanel-clad ladies walk poodles along grand boulevards; a place where the waiters might be rude but the food is délicieux. Paris is all of that and more. Depart on a Guided Tour of Paris. See the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Place de la Concorde, Place Vendome and the Champs Elysees. At the conclusion of the tour, transfer and check in to a local 3-star hotel (TBC). Free time to settle in and freshen up. Dinner as a group and this evening is free.

DAY SEVEN: Wednesday, July 12, 2017 PARIS (B,D) Masterclass This morning enjoy a visit to the world famous Louvre Museum which is home to many historic and widely known art works including the Mona Lisa, one of Leonardo Da Vinci s masterworks. Afternoon Lunch on your own in the area. After lunch, enjoy a Seine river cruise which will take you past some of the city s major sights. This afternoon, enjoy a masterclass with Philippe Ferro, Music Director of the l'orchestre d'harmonie de la Région Centre (TBC). Dinner as a group in Paris. DAY EIGHT: Thursday, July 13, 2017 PARIS (B,D) Following breakfast, load the coaches and transfer to nearby Versailles where you will visit the Palace of Versailles. The grandeur of the Château of Versailles is hard to imagine until you are standing in front of it. Immediately, you start to get an idea of the power (and ego) of the man who was behind it, King Louis XIV. One of the largest castles in Europe, it is also forever associated with another, less fortunate king, Louis XVI and his wife Queen Marie Antoinette, who were both forced to flee when the French Revolution arrived at their sumptuous doorstep. The palace s extraordinary gardens, designed by the legendary landscape architect André Le Nôtre, are almost worth the visit on their own. Afternoon Return to Paris for lunch on your own. Upon arrival back in to Paris, enjoy a visit of the Cite de La Musique. The museum, with a permanent collection of over 1,000 instruments and artworks, as well as 2 temporary exhibitions each year, promotes music heritage dating from the 17th century to the present day through music from around the world. Later this afternoon continue on to the Montmartre area of Paris and enjoy a visit to the Basilica of the Sacre Coeur which offers spectacular views of Paris. Dinner as a group in Paris.

DAY NINE: Friday, July 14, 2017 PARIS (BASTILLE DAY) (B,D) Performance #3 Following breakfast, enjoy a Guided Tour of Palais Garnier. Flamboyant, extravagant, and baroque, this opulent opera house is a splendid example of Second Empire architectural excess. Mosaics, mirrors, gilt, and marble line these grand spaces, whose painted ceilings dance with fauns, gods, and nymphs. The main event, of course, is the auditorium, which might seem a bit small, considering the size of the building. In fact, it holds not even 2,000 seats. Afternoon Lunch on your own in Paris. Following lunch, return to the hotel to change into performance attire and collect your instruments. Load the coach and transfer to this afternoon s concert location possibly the Champs de Mars near the Eiffel Tower (TBC). PERFORMANCE at the Champs de Mars near the Eiffel (TBC). Enjoy a Farewell Dinner as a group in Paris to celebrate your Spain and France Performance Tour! DAY TEN: Saturday, July 15, 2017 PARIS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (B) Check out of the hotel, load coaches and transfer to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Arrive at the airport, check in for your flights, say goodbye to your local tour escorts and move through security to your departure gate. Depart Paris for Southern California (likely LAX) there may be a change of planes en route. Due to the size of the group, Desert Sands may be split between several flights and/or several airlines. Customs and immigration formalities will take place at the 1 st point of entry into the USA. TIME TBD Arrive into Southern CA airport TBD say good-bye to your WP Tour Manager. WELCOME HOME!
