Hamilton Mausoleum Tours Hamilton Mausoleum is the town s most striking historic landmark. This fascinating monument was built by Alexander, 10th Duke of Hamilton, as his final resting place. The building is impressive on the outside, but, book one of the tours offered by Museum staff, and you will see just how breathtaking it is, with its massive dome, magnificent bronze doors, marble floors, and eerily atmospheric crypt to say nothing of the world famous echo! Tours are available on the first and third Sunday of each month from February to November at 12.00pm and 2.00pm. Tours must be booked at least 2 days in advance. Tickets for the 12.00pm tour cost 6.00 and 4.00 for concessions available from Low Parks Museum reception. Present your ticket at the Mezzanine Cafe at Low Parks Museum for a complimentary bowl of soup or a hot drink and a cake. Tickets can only be used on the day of the tour. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required when booking. Tickets for the 2.00pm tour cost 3.50 and 2.00 for concessions available from Low Parks Museum reception. Please note that Hamilton Mausoleum is not wheelchair accessible and is unsuitable for people with walking difficulties. We advise visitors to wear warm clothing and sturdy footwear when visiting Hamilton Mausoleum. Visits to Hamilton Mausoleum can be arranged out with the programmed tours for groups with a minimum of 10 people. Please contact Low Parks Museum at linda.barrett@southlanarkshireleisure.co.uk or aileen.meechan@southlanarkshireleisure.co.uk or call 01698 452382 to arrange a tour. 4
