Ft Leavenworth is a closed secure military installation. It is open 6:30am - 4:30pm. Need to have valid license, registration and proof of insurance and that all passengers, 16 and over, have either a driver's license or other form of photo ID. Rental agreement is accepted in place of vehicle registration. Visitors with drivers licenses from Minnesota, Missouri, Washington, Kentucky, Maine, Montana, Pennsylvania and South Carolina will need to provide supplemental documentation to prove identity in order to be issued a temporary installation pass. These states don't abide by federal Real ID Act of 2005 so their driver licenses are invalid at this DoD Installation. Anyone with a Department of Defense ID can gain access without the visitor pass.
