There is no road system into Seldovia due to a glacier run-off field so the adventure begins once you decide you will go to Seldovia. There are many ways to get here. The most adventurous is to take a boat tour to Seldovia, which includes a tour of Gull Island. Then return by air with a flight-see trip and view glaciers and mountain goats, its breath-taking! State Ferry: You may bring your vehicle or motor home over on the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry, which runs twice a week in the summer. All trails are pedestrian trails. The Otterbahn Trail starts in town behind the school. It s a moderately easy hike, winding through spruce forests and across a small boardwalk leading to the Kachemak Bay beach. The Rocky Ridge Trail is a signed 2½ mile trail. It is a moderately difficult hike so not for small children. The trail offers a view of both bays, and volcanoes. The Tutka Bay Trail is a moderately easy trail of 1 1/2 miles starting from the Jakolof Bay area. Kayak the local Bays: Bring Your own or rent. Seldovia and Jakolof Bays are beautiful and serene.
