Oxfordshire Winterlake is ideally positioned between the villages of Kirtlington and Bletchingdon, a short drive from the centre of Oxford. This fine family home is situated just outside the popular village of Kirtlington with its village green, primary school, two public houses, golf course and polo club. Travel communications in the area are excellent with the A34 within striking distance providing fast access to Oxford and Newbury and to the M40 (London and Birmingham) and the A40 west to Cheltenham is also close by. The International airports of Heathrow and Birmingham are within easy reach and private planes can be landed at nearby Oxford airport. The area is renowned for its excellent selection of schools, especially in and around Oxford including The Dragon School, Summer Fields, St Edward s, Oxford High School and Headington. Within striking distance are Radley College, Abingdon School, Cheltenham College and Cheltenham Ladies College. More locally, Cokethorpe near Witney, Kitebrook near Moreton-in-Marsh, Tudor Hall, Bloxham near Banbury and Winchester House in Brackley are all extremely well regarded. There is an excellent Church of England primary school in the village. Winterlake Winterlake is approached off a country lane through a broad gravel entrance with stone gateposts and double, wrought-iron gates. The driveway leads through the grounds, terminating in a parking area at the front of the house. The house was originally constructed in the late 1960s with later additions and is constructed of block under a tile roof. The house is classically designed with a central reception hall leading off to well-proportioned rooms that were designed to specifically take advantage of the views. The house is very light with sash windows on both the ground and first floor. Of particular note are the light and well-proportioned drawing and dining rooms, both of which benefit from the pretty outlook over the parkland and views beyond. The first floor accommodation is accessed via the main staircase from the reception hall as well as from a lift. The master bedroom is double aspect with lovely views over the gardens and grounds and is en-suite with an additional dressing room. There are six further bedrooms and three further bathrooms, one of the bedrooms is currently used as a study and the other as a storeroom but the accommodation is flexible and can be used in many ways to suit the required purpose.
