MONDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER 2017 A private personal airport transfer will meet you at the Rome Fumincino Airport and chauffeur you to our designated Hotel. On arrival you will be met by Faye and assisted with your check in at this family run four star hotel close to the Via Veneto. After unpacking and resting the group members will meet in the hotel bar for an aperitif before early light dinner in the hotel. TUESDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 2017 We begin our Relaxed Walking Tour of Rome with a visit to Ancient Rome visiting the sites of the Forum, Colosseum, Capitoline Hill and Museum. We will stop often for doppio espresso/s.pellegrino in true Roman style and lunch in the ancient market area. A stunning dinner close to Via Veneto WEDNESDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER 2017 Today our Relaxed Walking Tour takes us over the famous Tiber River to the famous Trastevere section of Rome. After visiting the stunning Basilica of Our Lady in Trastevere with its 12th century mosaics and lavish interior with 22 Roman columns and experiencing the sights and sounds of this more eclectic area of Rome known for its funky boutiques we will wander back to Piazza Navona and the wonderful side streets off this famous section of Rome. Lunch in the 'sun' people watching today. Tonight a tour of the City Lights followed by an authentic Roman meal. THURSDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER 2017 A wonderful start to our Walking Tour begins in the famous Borghese Gardens and a visit to the famous Borghese Gallery followed by the true wander of a Roman Holiday. A wonderful dinner close to the Trevi Fountain completes our Roma Sojourn.
FRIDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER 2017 A relaxed mid morning departure from our hotel in our private coach takes us along the coast line north to our final destination today, Monterosso in the Cinque Terre. We should arrive in time for a swim in the stunning hotel pool before a stroll through this wonderful village nestled beside the Ligurian Sea. A seafood dinner tonight in the village. SATURDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER 2017 Early after our nutritious breakfast overlooking the sea, we will leave the Sunday crowds and take the local train to Levanto from where we will begin the first of our three days of relaxed walking the famous Cinque Terre villages. A picnic lunch and slow paced gentle climb 6.4,kilometre walk takes us through oak and oleander forests, olive groves and sea views to die for without the crowds of the famous five towns. The steep descent down into Monterosso affords stunning views of the entire coastline of the Cinque Terre... Dining under the stars tonight in the village. SUNDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER 2017 Today we take the local train down to the most southern village of Riomaggiore and begin our slow walk back to Monterosso via Manarola, Corniglia and Vernazza using a combination of hiking and train travel. We are rewarded along the way with local cuisine and wonderful gelati to give us energy...there are lots of options for the walk and you will be able to choose how much or little walking you wish to do. MONDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER 2017 The keen hikers in the group can experience the high walk along the summit of the mountain range above Monterosso whilst others can choose a day in Sestri Levante or Santa Margherita or simply lazing by the stunning pool and browsing the interesting shops of the villages. A 'Farewell to the Cinque Terre' dinner on the hotel terrace. TUESDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER 2017 This morning we transfer to the Como Lakes by our private coach. This is a pretty drive even on the autostrada and the Strada Regina which hugs the Lakes passing elegant villas and aristocratic gardens. We plan to arrive at our hotel in Menaggio mid afternoon. Dinner in our lovely hotel on the lake. WEDNESDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER 2017 Today we take a break from walking and instead visit two beautiful villas on the lakes. We travel by private boat to Villa Balbianello and Villa Carlotta enjoying the scenery of the lake. Lunch in Tremezzo. Dinner overlooking the lake THURSDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 2017 Today we take the Rapido Ferry across the Lake to Bellagio for the day. Situated on the watershed peninsula between the two branches of Como and Lecco, Bellagio's extraordinary position and its little alleys with numerous shops, make it an enchanting place to visit. FRIDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER 2017 Today we travel to Como, the wonderful port city surrounded by stunning mountains. The lakeside and Cavour square make Como particularly inviting with its shops hotels and cafes surrounding the square.
