TOUR ITINERARY Tuscan D lish- May 2016 DAY 01 ARRIVE ROME (D) 31 st May Sunday Upon arrival at Rome airport be met by our local representative and transfer to your 4-star centrally located hotel. Time to freshen up and relax. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight Rome. DAY 02 ROME (B) 1 st June Monday Breakfast at hotel. Half day guided walking tour of Ancient Rome: Visit the Coliseum & Roman Forum, tour will end city centre, free time. Maybe a visit to the Opera tonight? Overnight Rome. DAY 03 ROME (B) 2nd June Tuesday Breakfast at hotel. Half day guided walking tour of Baroque Rome: Visit Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Navona Square. Tour will end city centre, free time. Optional visit to the Vatican Overnight Rome. DAY 04 ROME - ORVIETO - TUSCANY (B) 3 rd June Wednesday Breakfast in hotel. Depart Rome for Tuscany today. You will stop in Orvieto on the way for a visit of its beautiful Duomo. Check in at your hotel in Tuscany and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. We are staying in Colle de Val D elsa, a small medieval town close to Siena, our home for the next 5 days. Overnight Tuscany. DAY 05 SIENA & WINE TASTING (B) 4 th June Thursday Breakfast at the hotel. Today go to Siena for a guided walking tour of the city. Then, you will have a visit of a wine estate and learn how wine are produced here. The visit ends with a degustation of some typical Tuscan wines. Return to the hotel for a free evening. Overnight Tuscany. DAY 06 SAN GIMIGNANO & COOKING CLASS (B,L) 5 th June Friday Breakfast at the hotel. This morning go to an Italian cooking school and have a cooking class, learning how to prepare some typical Italian dishes. The class ends with lunch, eating what you have prepared and drinking the local Chianti! In the afternoon, go to San Gimignano for a free visit, why not try the best ice cream in the world? Return to the hotel for a free evening. Overnight Tuscany.
DAY 07 PIENZA & MONTALCINO (B,L) 6 th June Saturday Breakfast at our hotel. This morning go to Pienza and visit the town, then, go for a cheese tasting: Pienza is famous for its Pecorino cheese! You will also have lunch tasting some typical Tuscan dishes. In the afternoon visit Montalcino, a pretty village famous for its great wine: Brunello. Wine tasting at a winery. Return to the hotel for a free evening. Overnight Tuscany. DAY 08 FLORENCE (B,D) 7 th June Sunday Breakfast at the hotel. Today transfer to Florence, where you will have a guided walking tour of the city in the morning. Free time at leisure in the afternoon. Return to our hotel for a group dinner. Overnight Florence. DAY 09 FLORENCE (B) 8 th June Monday Free day Florence to explore the city, visit the world famous museums and enjoy some fabulous shopping. Options for outlet shopping here. Overnight Florence. DAY 10 TUSCANY - PISA & LUCCA MONTEROSSO (B,) 9 th June Tuesday Breakfast at our hotel. This morning depart for Monterosso in the Cinque Terre, stopping in Pisa for a guided visit of the city, famous for its Leaning Tower. In the afternoon, go to Lucca for a free visit. Check in to your hotel in Monterosso and try the best ever Aperol Spritz and Aperitivo Free evening DAY 11 CINQUE TERRA (B) 10 th June Wednesday Breakfast at hotel. Today enjoy a full day excursion to the Cinque Terre, visit Vernazza, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Overnight Monterosso DAY 12 CINQUE TERRA (B) 11 th June Thursday Breakfast at hotel. DAY 13 MONTEROSSO - BOLOGNA (B) 12 th June Friday Breakfast at hotel. This morning depart for Bologna. Upon arrival have a guided walking tour of the city. Free evening and overnight Bologna. DAY 14 MODENA & PARMA (B,L) 13 th June Saturday Breakfast in hotel. This morning depart for a full day excursion to Modena and Parma. In the morning, visit an Acetaia where balsamic vinegar is produced. Have a typical Emilian lunch at a trattoria. In the afternoon, visit a ham producer in Parma, and learn about Italian prosciutto. Visit a parmigiano reggiano cheese maker in the afternoon. Return to Bologna for a free evening and overnight. DAY 15 BOLOGNA - VENICE (B) 14 th June Sunday Breakfast in hotel. This morning depart Bologna for Venice, arriving in time for free afternoon and lunch at leisure. Overnight Venice. DAY 16 VENICE (B,D) 15 th June Monday Breakfast in hotel. This morning meet your local guide and have a guided walking tour of Venice. Free time at leisure in the afternoon. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight Venice.
