DAY 1: HOLANDA - MADRID Departure by plane from Holland to Madrid. At scheduled time, arrive at Madrid Barajas Airport and transfer to Hotel Ganivet, located in the center of Madrid. Check-in and free time until dinner. Accommodation. DAY 2: MADRID Breakfast. Panoramic tour of Madrid by adapted bus, visiting: Castellana s Avenue, Retiro s Park, Cibeles, Colon Square, Gran Vía, Spain s Square, West Park, Mayor Street, Puerta del Sol. DAY 3: MADRID LA GRANJA DE SAN ILDEFONSO Breakfast. Departure from the hotel by adapted bus to La Granja de San Ildefonso, Royal Site declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2013 and whose historic - artistic center is declared Historic Monumental. In this visit we will enjoy the visit of this majestic Palace built by order King Philip V in 1721. It was used as a summer residence until Alfonso XIII. The Palace follows an example of European palatine architecture, following the style of the Palace of Versailles with its gardens and fountains. The gardens are one of the best preserved examples of the XVIII century. They occupy 146 hectares and it possesses diverse varieties of vegetation. By order of King Philip V, and according to his French tastes, abundant adornments were included in the fountains and white marble sculptures. There are also Italian influences of Queen Elizabeth of Farnese. There are so important the Fountains of Neptune, Apollo and Andromeda, the Fountain of Horse Racing, the Anphitrite s Waterfall, the Fountain of Diana s Baths and the Fountain of Fame (the most famous). DAY 4: MADRID - ÁVILA Breakfast. Departure from the hotel by bus adapted to Ávila, a relevant city to the Adaja s River, whose medieval old town, in excellent condition, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985. We will start the visit enjoying the panoramic views from the top of the wall, a vestige preserved since the Middle Ages, which makes the city a defensive core of great prestige. Next, we will visit the Salvador s Cathedral, episcopal seat of Castilla y León. It is the first Gothic cathedral of Spain, constructed by Fruchel of Romanesque style of transition to Gothic. We will continue the visit to the Church - Santa Teresa Convent, a 17th century building, built on the supposed home of St. Teresa de Jesús, a religious born in Ávila and founder of the Discalced Carmelites. She was canonized 40 years after her death and, along with St. Juan de la Cruz, one of the great teachers of the spiritual life of the Catholic Church. The building was declared of Cultural Interest in 1886. The church is in Baroque style. Inside, we will enjoy the Relics Room of Santa Teresa, where we can observe her momificated finger and 2 bones of St. Juan de la Cruz. Lunch and free time until return to the hotel. DAY 5: MADRID Breakfast. Free day to enjoy a stroll through at Retiro s Park, visit a museum and walk by the centric streets of the city (Alcalá Street, Cibeles s Square, Gran Vía), etc. Lunch by the customer. Departure from the hotel by adapted bus to Salamanca, a city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988 and European Capital of Culture in 2002. In this visit we will know the history of the city and its most remarkable monuments: Plaza Mayor, Cathedrals, University, House of Shells, etc. We will also be able to discover magical corners as Corrillo s Square, Fonseca Palace, Colón Garden, Convent of Las Dueñas, Convent of Dominicans, Calixto and Melibea s Orchard, The Lis s House, The Unamuno s House, the Monterrey Palace, the House of Death... DAY 7: MADRID SEGOVIA Breakfast. Departure from the hotel by adapted bus to Segovia, whose old town and aqueduct were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985. We will make a panoramic visit of the city, visiting its most important monuments until the Alcázar, a castle-palace on top of a hill, from where you can see great views of the whole city. Afterwards we will take a guided tour on foot through the historical part, visiting the Aqueduct (considered the most important Roman civil engineering work in Spain), the Plaza Mayor and the Cathedral (in gothic style with renaissance features erected in the XVI century).
