Only $2899 Per person dbl occup Day 1 - Mon. Aug. 14- Get on board for a great western adventure. Get acquainted with your traveling companions. We will stop for breakfast and lunch along the way. Today we travel to St. Louis. We will have an included dinner before going to our hotel for a good night s rest. Day 2 - Tue. Aug. 15 -This morning after breakfast at our hotel we will go to the top of the St. Louis Arch. The Gateway Arch Riverfront, highlighted by the majestic Gateway Arch, attracts more than four million guests each year. At 630 ft., our nation's tallest man-made monument has plenty of exciting activities. Take the tram ride to the top, see a documentary film, experience a giant screen movie, visit the Lewis & Clark exhibit in the museum and go shopping. Next we head west toward Kansas City where we will have some of that famous Kansas City Bar-b-que for dinner. Day 3 Wed. Aug. 16- Today we head north through Omaha and into Sioux Falls. Here we will visit Falls Park. The Falls of the Big Sioux River have been a focus of life in the region throughout history. Native American peoples were the first to visit the falls and bring stories of them to European explorers. They have been the focus of recreation and industry since the founding of the city of Sioux Falls in 1856. Today the park covers 42 acres. Each second, an average of 7,400 gallons of water drop 100 feet over the course of the falls. After dinner we will go to our hotel. Day 4 - Thur. Aug. 17 - This morning we head into South Dakota. We will stop in Mitchell SD, and visit the world famous Corn Palace. The world's only Corn Palace is an outstanding structure which stands as a tribute to the agricultural heritage of South Dakota After lunch we continue west with a magnificent drive thru Badlands National Park. This land of sharp ridges, steep walled canyons, gullies, pyramids and knobs has been so ruthlessly ravaged by wind and water that it has become picturesque. The Badlands are a wonderland of bizarre, colorful spires and pinnacles, massive buttes and deep gorges. Erosion of the Badlands reveals sedimentary layers of different colors: purple and yellow (shale), tan and gray (sand and gravel), red and orange (iron oxides) and white (volcanic ash). Then we will arrive in Wall, SD, home of Wall Drug Store, where we will have our dinner stop. Wall Drug is the principal industry in the town of Wall. It's a sprawling tourist mall that occupies most of downtown and employs nearly a third of its population. Over a million people stop at Wall Drug every year -- 20,000 on a good summer day. After dinner we will head for the hotel for a good night s rest. Dan s Tours & Travel, LLC 256-845-0042 danstours.net

Day 5 - Fri. Aug. 18 - Today we visit Mount Rushmore. Mt. Rushmore stands as a shrine of democracy, a monument and memorial to this country's birth, growth and ideals. Mount Rushmore symbolizes the greatness of this nation through the greatness of it leaders. The epic sculpture of Mount Rushmore depicts the faces of four exalted American presidents that symbolize this nations rich history, rugged determination and lasting achievements. After Mt. Rushmore we visit the Crazy Horse Monument. The Crazy Horse Memorial is a mountain monument under construction in the Black Hills of South Dakota, in the form of Crazy Horse, an Oglala Lakota warrior, riding a horse and pointing into the distance. Next we make the short drive to our next overnight, Deadwood SD, where Wild Bill Hickok was shot and killed. We should arrive in Deadwood by about 3:00 PM. Day 6 - Sat. Aug. 19- Today we make a beautiful drive from Deadwood SD to Cody WY, where we will visit the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. The Buffalo Bill Museum at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming, presents an interesting and authentic look at the life and times of William F. Cody. It contains displays of his early scouting, family life and, of course, the famous Wild West Show. Day7 - Sun. Aug. 20 - Today we spend the day in Yellowstone National Park with a step on guide to show us all the beautiful sights of this wonderful park. Established in 1872, Yellowstone National Park is America's first national park. Located in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho, it is home to a large variety of wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, bison, and elk. Preserved within Yellowstone National Park are Old Faithful and a collection of the world's most extraordinary geysers and hot springs, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. After a great day in the park we will overnight just north of the park near Livingston, Montana. Day 8 - Mon. Aug. 21 - Today we head north to Glacier National Park. We will have lunch and then ride The Road to the Sun in the historic Jammer Cars. The famous Red Buses serve as an ideal way to see and learn more about Glacier National Park. In fact, the vintage 1930s buses are part of the human history and heritage of the park. As much of the park s scenery is vertically oriented, the roll-back tops are perfect for providing full views of the stunning mountains, and the area s signature Big Sky. The guides are seasoned park veterans, who are here because they love the park and enjoy sharing the park with visitors. We will overnight near Kalispell, MT.

Day 9 - Tue. Aug. 22 - Today we head north into Canada. Have your passport ready. We will arrive at our hotel in Calgary, Canada in the afternoon. Day 10 - Wed. Aug. 23 - Today we are joined by a local guide for a full day tour of Banff and Jasper. Our first stop will be at Lake Louise, the superstar alpine lake of Banff National Park. From there, proceed north on the Icefields Parkway, considered by many to be one of the world s greatest scenic drives, and listen as our guide shares details about the unique ecosystem of the area and about the history of its remarkable glaciers. You ll also visit two of the parkway s notable landmarks, Peyto Lake and Crowfoot Glacier, for photo opportunities and to take in the views. Next, we arrive at the Columbia Icefields for your ride on the Ice Explorer, which takes you on a one-of-a-kind journey across the surface of this amazing sheet of ice. You will get to walk on the glacier. After your ride, stop by the Glacier Gallery, gift shop and restaurant at the Icefields Centre before boarding the bus for the drive back to Calgary, where your day trip ends. Day 11 - Thur. Aug. 24 - This morning we will visit the Heritage Park Historical Village in Calgary. Heritage Park Historical Village first opened its gates on July 1, 1964. Since opening its doors, the Park has grown into one of Calgary s premier tourist attractions and one of North America s largest and most successful living history museums. Here you have the opportunity to interact with nearly 100 years of history. Heritage Park s exhibits span the early 1860s fur trade to the petroleum and automobile-dominated 1950s. It is the Park s mission to preserve the history of the early West and to educate and entertain guests of all ages for many generations to come. After lunch on your own in the park we will head west into Saskatoon. We will overnight near Swift Current, Saskatoon. Day 12 - Fri. Aug. 25-Today we continue west through Moosejaw and into the United States. We will have a group dinner tonight and overnight near Minot ND. Day 13 - Sat. Aug. 26 - Today we will drive this morning, arriving in Fargo ND about lunch time. Here we will visit Bonanzaville. Bonanzaville is North Dakota's must-see historic attraction. Located in West Fargo, North Dakota and comprised of 12 acres, 43 historic buildings, more than 400,000 artifacts, and millions of memories. Here you will enjoy visiting the Eugene Dahl Car Museum, the Eagles Air Museum, the tractor museum, the Law Enforcement Museum, and more. We will overnight near Fargo, ND. Day 14 - Sun. Aug. 27 - Today we drive south to Clear Lake, Iowa. Here we will visit The historic Surf Ballroom, where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper play their last concert. We will also visit the memorial that has been erected at the sight of the plane crash. After our visit we will head south spending the night near Iowa City, Iowa.

Day 15 - Mon. Aug. 28 - This morning we will drive for about 2 hours south to Hannibal, MO. The childhood home of Mark Twain and the setting for The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Here we will visit The Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum. We can explore: Mark Twain s Boyhood Home & Garden see where Sam Clemens grew up (and where the REAL adventures of Tom Sawyer took place) in a lovely garden flanked by a stone wall built by the WPA. Boyhood Home Gift Shop the original museum, the 1937 stone building built by the WPA. Huckleberry Finn House where the REAL Huck Finn (Tom Blankenship) grew up.
