Dear Friends and Families, It s hard to believe that school is almost out for summer! We are gearing up to spring Camp Crusader into action. We have seven weeks of insane fun lined up and each week will vary with different activities and field trips planned. Our adventures will take us to some of the most exciting places the Tampa Bay Area has to offer! Camp Crusader is for kids aged 5 through 5 th grade. We will also be hosting Camp Crusader Junior, which will cater to kids 3-5 years old. We have different sessions, and you are welcome to join as many as you would like. Prices will vary, depending on what adventures are planned for the week. Peruse the sessions, and see what piques your child s interests. Make sure to get your registration and forms filled out as soon as possible. This is my first year as Camp Director. I am beyond ecstatic to see what fun we can cook up here at my alma mater. SESSION 1: LEGO MY EGGO June 4- June 8 Camp Crusader kicks off with some welcoming activities. We will get to know each other over breakfast each morning and work on plenty of team building activities. Our weekly adventure takes us to LEGOLAND. We will be inspired by colorful creations, perhaps, even building our own masterpiece! Weekly Adventure: LEGOLAND, June 7 th Weekly Camp Event: Kona Ice, getting to know you games, Friday lunch party Additional trip: Highland Recreation Center Pool, June 5th Cost per camper: $175 SESSION 2: SHIPWRECKED June 11- June 15 Week 2 is all about living that Buccaneer Life! We will be going on Captain Memo s Pirate Ship on Clearwater Beach. All week long, we will be sharing stories and hunting for treasure as we scavenge for prizes Ahoy, maties, come join us! SESSION 3: UNDER THE SEA June 18-June 22 Week 3 is all things marine. We will learn about the abundant sea life that surrounds us in Florida. We will also bring beach activities to camp. Beach volleyball, anyone? This week s adventure will take us to Crystal Springs Preserve which is a 530 acre sanctuary used for education and preservation of Florida s natural environment. The spring pumps out 30 million gallons of water daily! Weekly Adventure: Crystal Springs Preserve, June 21 Weekly Camp Event: Kona Ice, ocean murals, Friday Lunch party, June 19 SESSION 4: SUPERHERO WEEK June 25- June 29 Week 4 will have us fighting crime and using superpowers to transport us to magical places. In honor of superheroes, we will be taking in a special viewing of The Incredibles 2! Aren t we all curious to see what Jack-Jack has been up to? SESSION 5: STARS AND STRIPES July 2-July 6 (NO CAMP ON JULY 4 th ) Week 5 has us celebrating the birth of our glorious country! We will learn about the history of our nation and revel in red, white and blue themes. This week the party will be coming to us, as we will have water slides on campus! Can you say PARTY in the USA? Weekly Adventure: water slides on campus Weekly Camp Event: Kona Ice & Crusader cookout (slide subject to change) SESSION 6: I LIKE TO MOVE IT, MOVE IT July 9-July 13 Week 6 has us bouncing into our athletic abilities. Each day we will focus on sharpening our sports skills. Perhaps an Olympic tournament? Our weekly adventure will be to Altitude Trampoline Park in Tampa. Did you know that the first trampoline was built in 1936 and that it was an Olympic event in 2000? SESSION 7: WALK ON THE WILD SIDE July 16-July 20 Our last week together winds down at Busch Gardens. We will learn about wildlife as we reminisce on all of our summer memories.
