Kenya/Tanzania Safari Day 00: Fly out September 21 flights TBD Day 01: September 22 Met on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transferred to Hemmingway Hotel Nairobi. Overnight at Hemmingway Hotel Nairobi (Bed & breakfast) Day 02: September 23 After breakfast drive south to Namanga border town. At Namanga clear with the immigration officers before entering Tanzania. The republic of Tanzania is Kenya's neighbor to the south and has been independent since 1961. At the border our Tanzanian agents will pick you up and transfer you to Arusha for lunch. After lunch proceed on to Karatu for your overnight stay at Gibbs Farm. Dinner and Overnight at Gibbs Farm (B,D) Day 03: September 24 After breakfast drive to Ngoro Ngoro Conservation area and descend 2,000 ft. into the Floor of the Crater, for a full day tour with picnic lunches. This Crater is the largest
Undamaged Caldera in the world (12 miles) and offers a great sanctuary for animals with plenty of vegetation. Animals likely to be seen include Wildebeest, Zebra, Lion, Hyena, Buffalo and once in a while Elephants usually migrate in and out of the crater. You will have Picnic lunch in the crater and return to Gibbs Farm late afternoon. Dinner and Overnight at Gibbs Farm (B,L,D) Day 04: September 25 After breakfast, morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. This park, famous for its tree-climbing Lions, is quite small with the lake covering 2/3 of the area. Other animals expected to be seen include Baboons, Impala, Tree-climbing Monitor Lizards, Flamingoes and over three hundred bird species. Elephants can also be seen in the dense acacia tree area if you are lucky! At about 11am drive to Arusha for lunch and later you will be transferred to Namanga Border for drop off. On arrival at Namanga go through immigration again before joining your Kenyan driver guides. Proceed on to Amboseli National Park. You will see game on your way before arriving to the hotel late afternoon. Dinner and Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge (B,D) Day 05: September 26 After breakfast, morning and afternoon game drive in Amboseli set on the backdrop of the snowcapped Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,340ft) the highest mountain in Africa. Amboseli means "Dust Devil" in Maa, the language of the Masai. In this magnificent park you have the opportunity to see major animals. Photographs with this beautiful mountain in the background are spectacular especially with so much wildlife in the foreground. The Elephants are considered the largest in the region and you may view them down on their knees feeding in swampy marshes. Dinner and Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge (B,L,D)
Day 06: September 27 Drive to Nairobi for lunch at the Safari Park Hotel and then on to Mountain Lodge Tree Hotel (8,000 ft) up in Mt. Kenya forest. A night spent in the Africa night world of unfolding drama, watching a floodlit water hole where animals come to drink or look for prey. You are alerted, if you like, to any exciting animals coming to the water hole during the night. Dinner and Overnight Mountain Lodge (B,D) Day 07: September 28 After breakfast, continue northwards, skirting Mt. Kenya to reach Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch. The stark beauty of this dramatic volcanic and thorn bush area on the northern frontier of Kenya is striking. Many of Samburu's animals are rarely seen outside this area, especially the Grevy's Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Blue Thigh Somali Ostrich and the graceful long necked Gerenuk. Dinner and Overnight Samburu Intrepid Camp (B,L,D) Day 08: September 29 This is a day to enjoy Samburu and crystalline Buffalo Springs running through the area across the Ewaso Ngiro River. The landscape here includes river vegetation such as flattopped acacia trees, doum palms, and lush tamarind. Elephant, Giraffe, Cape Buffalo, Leopard, Crocodile, Cheetah, and all kinds of smaller game, including the beautiful little Dik-Dik are spread across this landscape. Crocodiles share a provided meal of raw meat along the shore where they can be viewed close up from the many game watching terraces of the lodges. Day 09: September 30 Drive South to the town of Nanyuki and on to Ol Pejeta Conservancy a 22,000 acres of privately owned reserve, home to three of the world s last remaining three northern white Rhinos and a sanctuary for 111 critically endangered black Rhinos. Elephant, Giraffe, protected Rhino and many other plains wildlife are seen here. Kenya s largest Chimp Sanctuary is also located here. At the tented lodge you are safely surrounded by hidden electric fences so the animals can get very close as they come to drink at the floodlit waterhole. All tents have private verandahs facing the watering hole. Overnight At Sweetwaters Luxury Camp (B,L,D) Day 10: October 01 Early morning game-drive and after depart for Mt. Many consider it the best of Kenya's wildlife sanctuaries and one of the worlds greatest wildlife spectaculars takes place here between the months of July and October--the Great Migration, when millions of animals are moving in search of fresh grass after the long rains end in June. Met on arrival at Ol Kiombo Airstrip and transferred to Mara Intrepid camp. Lunch is at the camp before embarking on an afternoon drive to explore this magnificent reserve with its abundant species of mammals, birds and wonderful scenic views. Day 13: October 04 Spend the whole day in the Mara, game viewing in the morning and afternoon in this reserve with its' beautiful vast landscapes and teeming wildlife. Animals you are likely to see include; Cape Buffalo, Rhino, Wildebeest, Zebra, Elephant, black-manned Lion, Cheetahs and many more. Dinner and Overnight at Mara intrepid Camp (B,L,D) Day 14: October 05 Spend the second day with Morning and afternoon game drives. Driving along the Mara river and if you may be lucky to see the wildebeest and zebra crossing this crocodile infected river. In the afternoon we shall visit a local Masai village in this area.
