Pantanal A special WPA nature tour. Amazing Ant Eaters, landscapes, plus a myriad of birds and other stunning nature subjects up close... E: julia@worldadventures.com.au W: www.worldphotoadventures.com.au

THIS IS AN ULTIMATE NATURE ADVENTURE! Our two Brazil tours were voted the best wildlife experience by our adventurers in 2016! They are both different, targeting new locations and subjects. Wild Brazil 1 targets the savannah country that is home to giant anteaters, macaws, armadillos, peccaries, tapirs, toucans, marsh deer, raptors, rheas, and an incredible range of birds! Highlights of this tour: * Photograph a wide diversity of iconic wildlife such as greater rheas, giant anteater, peccaries, capybaras, anacondas, marsh deer, seriemas, several species of macaws, toucans and more! * Photograph colorful flocks of red-and-green macaws during their aerial acrobatics. * See some of the most colourful freshwater fish by snorkeling in the clearest rivers and streams of South America. Although Brazil is well known by its beaches, the Carnival and the lush Amazon rainforest, it hosts several unknown destinations and areas with a rich diversity of wildlife. One of these regions is the Cerrado ecosystem, one of the largest tropical savannahs on Earth that hosts a surprising diversity of wildlife. To discover these treasures, we have designed a unique itinerary in terms of photography, visiting two special locations of the Cerrado: Das Emas National Park and the Bonito areas. BRAZIL - the adventure... This region is a destination offering endless exploration experiences. Immerse yourself in the heartland of uniquely captivating images. In 2019 we invite you to photograph this stunning wilderness through your choice of two magnificent linked events: OUR UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS Darran and Julia have a combined 70+ years of working in the travel and tour industry. Son s Pearce and Frazer also offer unique experience with Pearce guiding and working in over 50 events and Frazer working at many events and covering the businesses IT requirements. We are a family business... Julia became a professional travel agent in 1983. Julia has worked for travel retailers and wholesalers, plus of course many years as the office manager for our business. Julia is very travelled, having visited every continent and many islands. Darran first guided a group while working at Carnarvon Gorge in Central Queensland in 1981. He has a huge portfolio of photography work and accomplishments from guiding for several companies, to commercial shoots, books and to this day supplying articles for publications like Australian Photography Magazine. Darran has been involved with over 400 photo events around the world. Finally, World Photo Adventures is fully covered by Tour Operator Insurance. This is not standard travel insurance and is not available until a rigorous check of a businesses procedures and use of travel operators is made. 1. Wild Brazil 1 - August 2. Wild Brazil 2 - August YES 30 YEARS... In 1989, Darran guided his first photo tour group to Norfolk Island. Julia guided a group of travel agents from New Zealand. They met at the famous island fish fry the rest is history... PAGE 2

ITINERARY TO ADVENTURE HIGHLIGHTS... Das Emas National Park is a UNESCO s World Heritage Site that covers 1,320 square kilometers (510 sq miles) of Cerrado habitat; most of it a treeless savannah with tall termite houses and an amazing amount of wildlife. Giant anteater, maned wolf, greater rheas, Pampas and marsh deer, greater rheas, blue-and-yellow macaw, anacondas and even the rare giant armadillo are usually seen in the area. The second part of this trip is a visit to Bonito, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, a very different type of Cerrado habitat with more number of trees and big numbers of caves, rivers and streams. We will have chances to photograph spectacular red-and-green macaws, giant anteaters, capuchin monkeys, agoutis and other special creatures, and we will also have chances to swim/snorkel/ scuba dive with colorful freshwater fish in the most pure and clear waters on Earth! We will stay in lodges located in the wilderness with excellent access to photogenic wildlife. PAGE 3

DAY 1 - CAMPO GRANDE CHAPADAO DO CEU DAS EMAS NATIONAL PARK August 12 We depart in our exclusive mini bus this morning. The adventure begins! After enjoying lunch in the small town of Chapadão do Céu, we arrive to our accommodation in one of the park s corners: Pousada do Glória. The park s name comes from Ema (the Portuguese name of the greater rhea, the South American version of the emu). We will spend the rest of the day shooting the herds of white-lipped peccaries, Pampas deer, red-legged seriemas, some hairy armadillo and the colourful blue-and-yellow macaws. We also include a workshop today to help you get the most from your photo adventures. A welcome to Brazil dinner is included... Lodge accommodation - (B,L,D) DAYS 2, 3 & 4 DAS EMAS NATIONAL PARK August 13/14/15 We continue exploring the different corners of the park, focusing on wildlife such as Marsh and Pampas deer, greater rheas, tapirs, peccaries, giant anteaters and some of the biggest anacondas found in Brazil.6 meters! The amphibians and reptiles are also diverse and colourf tree frogs, tortoises and tegu lizards. The birds are a world apart: big flocks of several species of macaws frequent the palm groves at the riverbanks, and many species of parrots and parakeets nest inside the termite mounds. We also hope to see two endangered species: the maned wolf (the largest canid in South America) and the giant armadillo. According to the state of the roads we will also visit a waterfall located inside a canyon. Lodge accommodation - (B,L,D) DAY 5 DAS EMAS NATIONAL PARK - BONITO August 16 After breakfast, we drive to Campo Grande, stopping for opportunistic subjects. After lunch, we continue to Bonito, arriving in the afternoon and offering more shoots as time allows. Hotel accommodation x 4 nights (B,L,D) DAY 6 BONITO GIANT ANTEATERS AND... August 17 Bonito is a charming region located at 260 km from Campo Grande, in the transitional area between Brazilian savannahs and the Chaco woods, in an area surrounded by dozens of springs and rivers of incredible clear water with abundant and diverse wildlife. Our accommodation is located by a clear river and surrounded by wildliferich native vegetation, where we can shoot photogenic groups of brown capuchin monkeys, as well as bare-faced curassows (a big bird related to turkeys), agoutis, collared peccaries, tegu lizards and toucanets, among many. Afternoon to explore the surroundings of Bonito, savannahs and semi rural areas looking for the most charismatic species of this habitat: the giant anteater, plus coatis, broad-nosed caimans, woodpeckers. PRE TOUR Accommodation starts AS PER ITINERARY, Day 1. The tour finishing in Campo Grande, with no further services included. We suggest you arrive in Campo Grande, at least 24 hours before the tour starts. This will help with the new time zone and allow you to be fresh for the start of your adventure. We generally commence booking pre/post accommodation and flights approximately 8/9 months prior to departure, this optimising your travel interests. FINAL ITINERARY Note that a final itinerary will be sent to you about one month before departure. PAGE 4

DAY 7 THE MACAW S SINKHOLE (Buraco das Araras) August 18 Full day visit to the Buraco das Araras (In Portuguese Macaw s Hole ), an enormous sinkhole where an important and growing population of red-and-green macaws nest every year. These colourful birds are habituated to visitors and are easy to photograph at close range flying, perched, and in the nests. The most active hours are between 08:00am and 11:00am and from 3:30pm, up to sunset. In the area there are also seen hairy armadillos, coatis, toco toucans, red-legged seriemas, surucua trogons, peach-fronted parrots and ferruginous pygmy owls, among many other species. Lunch in a nearby cattle ranch. A diverse day that will fill cards and offer unforgettable memories! (B,L,D) DAY 8 - GROUTE OF THE BLUE LAKE & SAVANNAHS August 19 After an early breakfast and wildlife shoot around our accommodation, we visit the Groute of the Blue Lake, a cave with enormous stalactites and a spectacular blue lake inside (the colour of the water under the natural morning light is amazing). Also visit the Municipal Balnearium, where we can photograph habituated whitelipped peccaries, jacamars, capuchin monkeys and other species. In the afternoon we will again explore the savannahs looking for giant anteaters and other interesting species. Accommodation for 2 nights at the Hotel Cabanas, located by the clear water of a river and surrounded by native forests, where you can photograph a wide diversity of birds and mammals, including tame bare-faced curassows, brown capuchin monkeys and Azara s agoutis. (B,L,D) DAY 9 DA PRATA RIVER August 20 Visit a private preserve for picturesque waterfalls surrounded by gallery forests, and a pond with a population of an endangered species: the broad-nosed caiman. After lunch drive to Formoso River for a unique experience: swimming/snorkelling in the most crystalline waters of South America. The river is flanked by gallery forests, where we can see wildlife such as channel-billed toucans, black-tailed marmosets and blue-and-golden macaws. The scuba dive is easy and it is one of the highlights of the trip: (we will supply snorkelling equipment) as you can photograph the schools of golden dorado, piraputangas and other colourful tropical fish at a very close range. You will understand why these waters are considered among the most pure and crystalline in South America! A unique experience! (B,L,D) Interested in more adventures? Join our linked tour to shoot Jaguar! (B,L,D) - Confirms if Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner - are included that day. Itinerary, price and details are subject to change.
