CAMPING INFORMATION The new semester has arrived and it brings with it old and new friends. What better way to celebrate than to spend a weekend together in the Black Forest ;) SOOO... we would like to invite you to join us on this year's winter camping. When? 27.10.17-29.10.17 Where In the wonderful campground "Schindelhaus Weißenbach" in Schönwald im Schwarzwald. We have booked the entire camp site which consists of a hut, campfire place, and space for tents. What? As per tradition, the winter camping takes place at the start of the winter semester to welcome the new members of the program and to (re)unite the cohorts for a weekend of relaxation, exploration, music, games and fun. The camping weekend is completely student organised. Breakfast for Saturday and Sunday + Saturday lunch and dinner are included in the cost in addition to snacks and drinks (beer, wine, juice, soda, coffee) for the entire weekend. Please remember to bring dinner for Friday and any other snacks/drinks that you want. How to get there? Campsite's Address: Weißenbach 13, 78141, Schönwald im Schwarzwald. Traveling by train: The trip is in 2 parts: Train from Freiburg Hbf to Triberg Station followed by a bus to "Schönwald Ortsmitte". Once there, there is a walk to the campsite. Train departs from Freiburg at 40past the hour to Neustadt (Schwarz) At Neustadt (Schwarz) change to the train headed in direction "Rottweil" or "Ulm Hbf". It leaves at 32past the hour Take this train to Donaueschingen Change at Donaueschingen to the train headed in the direction "Hausach". It leaves 40past the hour Take this train to Triberg where you get off Once at Triberg Train Station walk across to the Bus Station on Bahnhofstrasse Take Bus no. 7270 (direction: Furtwangen) till "Schönwald Ortsmitte". The bus leaves at 50past the hour Once at "Schönwald Ortsmitte", tighten your shoe laces and head down "Bourg-Achard-Strasse" till you reach at the address Further information + map will follow after you sign up :)
What to bring? Sleeping bag Sleeping mattress Food for Friday Plate, Knife, Fork & Cups Other: Musical Instruments/Speakers Slacklines, Footballs, Card games, Frisbee etc. Whatever else you need - (extra snacks, hard liquor) IMPORTANT NOTE: We have space for about 50 or so participants in the hut (we will try to accommodate as many people as we can). However, those who would like to put up tents, sleep outside and have warm enough sleeping bags should state so in the registration form so that we can have as many participants as possible. IF you do not have a tent but are still interested in camping, we have the possibility of renting tents from the campsite as well. Nonetheless, you will get an update before the camping regarding this issue if you should bring along your tents. GREAT! How to sign up? If you wonderful people want to come: 1.) I am aware that by signing this document I am expected to pay for the camping reservation, food and drinks. This document is valid without signature. 2.) Sign up to one group on doodle: http://doodle.com/poll/snnz8s5gk6d9ek8f The groups will organize food, drinks, wood and other responsibilities. Please choose at least one group! If your favourite group is full, please pick another one. Groups are supposed to organize themselves, so make sure to put your contact details (preferably email) and get in touch with the buddies from your group. Here are short descriptions about the task of each group:
Breakfast Saturday & Sunday: Organize and buy ingredients for the breakfasts. From bread to coffee. Please make it vegetarian and offer a vegan option. Lunch Saturday: Organize lunch (think of a nice dish and coordinate the cooking). If possible vegan, if vegetarian, think of a vegan option. Utilities such as pots etc. are provided. You will work with your group and other helpers to prepare the mail as a team. Dinner Saturday: Same system as the Lunch group Snacks and Fruits: Provide some small snacks for between the meals and for the evenings. Kitchen Cleaning: Clean the kitchen utilities that were needed for preparing the food. You won't have to clean the dishes of the other people, everybody is responsible for this on their own. Wood Group Friday: Collect dry wood for campfires. There is a forest nearby. Very important job to keep us warm in the evenings! Please be there in time on Friday to make sure you don't start collecting wood when it's already dark! We will have experienced assistance and equipment available. Wood Group Saturday - See above Flexible Helpers: You help wherever you're needed! Tasks can range from general campsite tidiness to assisting the food groups with some duties
