Fattoria Lavacchio is an organic vineyard that produces spectacular wines and olive oil, includes a great restaurant and is set in one of Tuscany's most picturesque areas. The second half of the trip is spent in the epicenter of art and culture in beautiful Florence where we experience museums, artisan tours, cityscapes, culinary wonders and all that this historic gem has to offer. The City of Florence Speaks for Itself! The Epicenter of Italy s Grand Artistic Traditions The Best of Both Worlds About Fattoria Lavacchio This is no ordinary vineyard! Fattoria Lavacchio is a fabulous elegant estate formerly owned by the noble Florentine family Strozzi and now owned and operated by the Lottero family, originally from Genoa. There are 110 hectors (about 250 acres) devoted to grapes, olives and wheat production, along with 5 star guest accommodations, stables and a great restaurant, Mulino a Vento (the Windmill). The estate is also home of the Innocenti family ceramics studio, one of Italy s most important ceramicists. The Vineyard includes Italy s only working windmill from which is produced flour for the estate s bread and pasta. Fattoria Lavacchio is an organic farm that produces 7 wine varieties and exquisite extra virgin olive oil pressed at the estate. The estate is set in the magnificent surroundings of Montefiesole, about 16 kilometers from Florence. The extraordinary panoramic views from 400 meters above sea level, across the Chianti countryside, are stupendous. Activities on the farm include equestrian, mountain biking, cooking demonstrations, programs devoted to wine and olive oil production, Italian language study, ceramics workshops, swimming, truffle hunting, Vespa tours, among others. What Does the Price of a Ticket INCLUDE? Private charter coach from Café Capriccio/Albany to airport in NY and back Airfare (round trip coach class from the New York City airports) Please note that group tickets are not upgradable per airline rules. If you plan to upgrade your seats or extend your trip in any way on your own, we must be aware of your flight needs when you sign up for the trip. All Accommodations in Florence (5-Star Hotel Bernini Palace) and at the Vineyard in Tuscany (Fattoria Lavacchio) Entry Tickets to all museums Gratuity for all charter coach drivers in the US All bus transfers and private ground transportation while in Italy Private Main Guide (Carolina Bosi), and Cultural Guide in Florence (Elvio Ancilotto) All meals while at the Vineyard in Tuscany inclusive of wine. While in Florence: Breakfast each day, 1 dinner inclusive of wine (we let people handle lunch on their own while in Florence as people prefer to do so)...and two dinners on your own because our guests have frequently expressed a desire to dine in restaurants of their choosing as Florence is a city of fine dining. We provide substantial guidance to assist with reservations. We also have a complimentary pre-trip special private dinner at Cafe Capriccio in Albany to let everyone meet each other and discuss the trip. We prefer to keep our groups small so that we can dine in special, intimate restaurants and experience things as a true Italian and NOT as a tourist. : ) The items that are not included are: Meals purchased at airports while we are in transit Horseback riding, massage and other optional amenities that are offered at the vineyard at a reasonable rate. We do not include these charges in the package rate as not all travelers utilize these services. Customary gratuities for servers, guides, porters and maids. Seat Upgrades and Trip Extensions Seat Upgrades: Group travel seats are regular Coach Class seats. Group travel seats are not upgradeable. Should you want to travel in a higher class seat such as Business Class or First Class, we would need to know this UPON REGISTRATION from the very beginning so that we have time to handle your booking appropriately. In the case of a requested upgrade, we would simply book your tickets at the regular online rate and charge you the difference in cost from the value of the contracted Group Rate Coach to the higher grade ticket and add it to your payments for the overall trip. Again, we must know your desire to upgrade from the moment you register for the conference so that we have time to secure your special arrangement tickets on the exact flights that the group tickets are booked on. Trip Extensions: Should you want to extend your trip either on the front end of the excursion or on the back end, we would need to know this UPON REGISTRATION from the very beginning so that we have time to handle your booking appropriately. Group travel, in most cases, does allow for some flight and date deviation on one way of the trip. We just need time to coordinate this BEFORE we finalize the group ticketing (which means at least 6 months in advance of departure) Deviations from Airport Departure or Arrival Location We can accommodate your needs should you need to depart or come in to a different airport than the overall group. Again, we would need to know this UPON REGISTRATION from the very beginning so that we have time to handle your booking appropriately. Any upcharge (if any) from the group travel rate will simply be applied to your overall ticket cost. ***Once your airline tickets have been finalized, we will not be able to make any changes to your flights or travel level grade (this is simply the rules of all airlines)*** PASSPORT INFORMATION NEEDED! In order to process your airline tickets, we will need to have a photocopy of your photo/information first page of your passport sent in with your registration and payment documents in order to book your air travel. Your passport date of expiration MUST be at least 6 months BE- YOND the date of your return from the trip.
