Rules and Regulations 1. Entries MUST be postmarked by May 16, 2015. Entry fee is $5.00 per animal, per show. Entries postmarked after May 16, 2015 or for day of show entries will be assessed charges at $8.00 per animal, per show. ENTRIES ON DAY OF SHOW WILL BE CASH ONLY. There will be no refund of fees for any reason. No faxed entries will be accepted. There will be a $25.00 fee charged for all returned checks. Substitutions may be made the day of the show. This show is sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association and its rules will govern. Only ADGA registered, recorded or applied animals may be shown. Both Open Jr. Doe and Open Sr. Doe shows are sanctioned for Alpine, Lamancha, Nigerian, Nubian, Saanen, Toggenburg, Recorded and All Other Purebred (AOP). Show order is outlined on page 2 of the show flyer. The order of the show is subject to change due to circumstances which may arise and only at the direction of the show committee. The Open Jr. Doe and Open Sr. Doe shows are separately sanctioned. There will be a Champion Challenge class in the Open Sr. Doe Show for the following breeds: Alpine, Lamancha, Nubian, Saanen, Toggenburg, Recorded and Nigerian Dwarf. 3. All animals over six months of age must be accompanied by the original registration certificate which must be shown to the show secretary prior to the start of judging. The original registration certificate or duplicate application stamped by the ADGA office is required for all animals under six months of age. The base date for computing animal s age is May 30, 2015. 4. All entries must be in accordance with WV State Health regulations, which is to be shown to Johnathan Taylor, or his designee, of the US Department of Agriculture. ALL ANIMALS MUST BE CHECKED BEFORE UNLOADING. DO NOT UNLOAD UNTIL ANIMALS HAVE BEEN CHECKED BY THE US DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE REPRESENTATIVE. Any animal showing signs of infectious or contagious disease, as determined by the show officials, will be barred from the show. The decisions of the show officials are final. 5. All animals should be in place one hour prior to the start of the show. Check in will begin two hours prior to the beginning of the show. Animals may arrive Friday night, overnight security will not be provided. 6. Pens are available on a first come, first serve basis. Due to limited pen space this year we are encouraging exhibitors to show out of their trailers if possible. No extra fee will be charged for showing out of a trailer. No straw or bedding will be provided. Pens and all areas used will be cleaned by the exhibitor. 7. There will be no pre-show milk out. Animals with overly distended udders will be discriminated against. Absolutely no unauthorized dumping of milk will be permitted on the Fair Grounds. If you have milk to dump, please ask.
8. You are entering the Mineral County Fairgrounds at your own risk. Neither the Capering Kids 4-H Goat Club, ADGA, Mineral County Fairgrounds nor any representative of the aforementioned organizations will be held responsible for accidents or loss to persons, animals or property while on the grounds. Signed entry forms for the show indicates acceptance of this condition. 9. No Smoking is allowed in or around the barn area or show ring. Dogs MUST be leashed at all times while on the Fairgrounds property. No dogs are allowed in the barn or show ring area. Bicycles, skateboards or the like are prohibited in the barn and show ring areas. 10. Concession stand will be available. Concession stand hours will be determined by the concession vendor. 11. University of Maryland Extension programs are open to all citizens without regard to race, color, gender, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation, marital or parental status, or national origin. 12. All Best of Breed winners will be required to show for the Best Doe in Show or forfeit any legs earned from the show. 13. All youth will be permitted to participate in a Youth Showmanship which will begin at 8:00 am. There is no fee for entry and a cash award for Best Showman by class will be awarded. Mechanic Street and continue straight through the traffic light. Merge right onto Canal Parkway/Airport. This will turn into WV 28 once you cross into WV. Follow WV 28 for about 10 miles. You will see a Dollar General Store on your right. The entrance to the Mineral County Fairgrounds is just past the Dollar General on your left.
