Northern Builds Ohio Northern University s Habitat for Humanity Alumni Newsletter In this Issue: Our Mission Celebrating 25 Years Connect with Us! Upcoming Events Partnering with Hardin County HabiGear Meet the Officers ONU students in Jackson, Miss., for Spring Break 2015 Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child should have a DECENT, SAFE, and AFFORDABLE place to live. We build and repair houses all over the world using volunteer labor and donations. Our partner families purchase these houses through noprofit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods. As Ohio Northern Habitat, we seek to live out the mission and goals of Habitat for Humanity International via our partnership with Hardin County Habitat, Collegiate Challenge, and the Ohio Northern and Ada communities. ONU Habitat has the further mission of providing an atmosphere of Christian service and fellowship for the entire Ohio Northern community.

UPCOMING EVENTS This upcoming school year will mark the 25 year of ONU Habitat. Over the last 25 years, ONU Habitat has been able to make an impact in both the Ada and Hardin County communities. Through our involvement with Collegiate Challenge, aka our nnual Spring Break rips, ONU Students have had the opportunity to travel to over 20 different cities throughout the United States. The ONU Habitat mission and the olar ear name has been spread far and wide. Join us this year to celebrate all the achievements of ONU Habitat and the wonderful students, faculty, and staff that have dedicated their time and energy to ONU Habitat. If you find yourself on campus, seek us out. We would love to hear your stories and see your pictures of Habitat through the years. If you happen to find yourself in Ada on a Monday night, we would love for you to join our meetings at 8p m in the Chapel. Stop by our booths at the nnual Harvest and Herb Festival or at the Homecoming Tailgate tent. Too far away to make the journey to campus? No problem! When: Saturday S 26 Start Time: Registration 7 a m, Race 8a m Cost: $10 per person Why: Support our annual Spring Break trips! Questions? Or want to register? Contact one of this year s Fundraising hairs Alicia at a-sawmiller@onu.edu or Josiah at j-denson@onu.edu. Registration will be open from now until the race begins. This year for work week, members of Table One Ministries ONU Habitat had the opportunity to work in Kenton, Ohio for a new nonprofit organization. Table One Ministries is founded on the mission to feed all people in the Kenton and surrounding communities with local, delicious, and healthy food. The goal: one table where everyone has the chance to eat. Now you may be asking yourself how they plan on doing this? The idea is simple, go eat and pay what you can. Paying for your meal will help to pay it forward and cover the costs to provide a meal for the next person. And if you can t afford the meal, volunteer your time working at the restaurant. Habitat members worked to complete interior work, installing drywall and painting, as well as exterior painting. Members also enjoyed the wonderful food that Table One so graciously prepared for us. ONU Habitat is looks forward to

continuing our partnership with Table One and working on weekends to help Reverend Miracle get his community restaurant open. Connect with us! Facebook: facebook.com/habionu Twitter: @ONU_H4H Instagram: onu_h4h Help Us Out! ONU Habitat members have been working hard to create a complete history of our organization for the 25th year but we need some help. Do you remember where you went for Spring Break when you were a student? What events were your favorite? Share what you remember from your time with ONU Habitat with our 25 th Anniversary Committee! Email n-kepner@onu.edu
