I am Lauren Di Falco and I am the Livingston High School Key Club Editor for the 2012-2013 Service year. In the Key Club Hub you will find all things Key Club and you will feel the amazing energy this club has to offer. From meeting different board members to learning about multiple service projects to learning about plenty of Key Club events, you will never feel out of the loop. In this issue you will find out a little about our 2012-2013 board members and look into the 66 th Annual District Convention that was held in Long Branch, NJ this year. I know with your help we can make this service year the best one ever!

Introducing The New Board It is to my pleasure to introduce to you Livingston High School Key Club s Board Members for the 2012-2013 service year. This is a unique group of individuals, being that they are all in the same graduating class, the class of 2014. With their best efforts they will give their all to run the club and guide it with care and compassion. Here is our new board: President: Zach Hubert Previous Position: Treasurer Previous President: Josh Hubert Vice President: Lindsey Wu Previous Position: General Member Previous Vice President: Chelsea Altchek Treasurer: Hinal Patel Previous Position: Care One Chairperson Previous Treasurer: Zach Hubert Secretary: Emily Nevola Previous Position: General Member Previous Secretary: Lauren Di Falco Editor: Lauren Di Falco Previous Position: Secretary Previous Editor: Jenn Geyman Webmaster: Stan Chernavsky Previous Position: General Student Previous Webmaster: Robert Fiddler Advisors: Mr. Ladolcetta and Ms. Riggi Fun Fact: They are both math teachers!

Trivia Zone In this section of the Key Club Hub there will be a question about either the board or Key Club International. Send in your answer to lauren.difalco@verizon.net and if you guess it correctly, you will be eligible to have a spotlight article done about you in the Key Club Hub. There will be only one winner per issue so if more than one person guesses correctly then the names of those who are eligible will be put in a random drawing to be chosen. President Zach and Editor Lauren share a common factor to the board that the other board members do not. What is this common factor? **Hint** It has something to do with siblings. The answer will be posted next issue. Division 18 News * Division 1 recently acquired enough clubs to become two separate divisions, 1A and 1B. For those of you who do not know, there are 23 division to the New Jersey District. Livingston High School is part of Division 18. Within our division there are 5 other schools from our area: Cedar Grove, Glen Ridge, James Caldwell, Mount Saint Dominic, and West Essex. Back in January there were Lieutenant Governor (these people are our connections to other Key Clubs and the District Board [most commonly referred to as an Ltg ]) elections for Division 18. Two board members from Livingston went to this as delegates and helped elect our new Lieutenant Governor, Heather Krannich of West Essex High School. As of April 1st she is officially our Ltg for the 2012-2013 service year. Now what about our old Ltg? Joseph Toumanios, also from West Essex, was elected District Treasurer at District Convention this year. Livingston would like to congratulate Joseph and Heather and wish them the best of luck this service year!

District Convention (In Words) District Convention, most commonly abbreviated as DCON, is a bittersweet moment that happens once a year. This convention marks the end of one service year and the beginning of another. Previous to this year, the New Jersey District Convention had been held in Pennsylvania. This year, the 66th annual New Jersey District Convention was held down the shore in the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch, New Jersey. At District Convention many things are going on at the same time. The three days of the convention are filled with campaigning for District Board, various contests, award ceremonies, many speakers, and dances. The first day of the convention, many Key Clubs around New Jersey began to settle into the hotel and register their club. The first night, Key Clubbers sang along with the keynote speaker, asked the candidates caucus questions, and attended the neon themed dance. The second day was full of contests. Livingston High School Key Club participated in the impromptu essay, and the talent show. Also during the second day Key Clubbers attended multiple workshops whose topics ranged from public speaking to icebreakers. During the second evening, there was the formal dance where the District Board had been auctioned off for a dance. On the third morning there was a walk for The Eliminate Project, the District s fundraising project. That was followed by Governor Nicole Darrah s farewell speech and the announcement of the new District Board. This brought the 2011-12 service year to an end, and the 2012-2013 service year began. We hope more members will want to take part at District Convention next year!

District Convention (In Pictures) Our seniors at their last Key Club District Neon Dance: here we come! Last day at the convention! Welcome Service Year 2012-2013!
