Officers were dispatched to alarm at residence. A Southfield Police K-9 Unit did a sweep of residence and the residence was cleared. The residence was ransacked but nothing appears to have been taken. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the scene. Evidence was secured and submitted for further processing. From: 05/24/2016 12:00pm To: 05/26/2016 11:00pm 25000 Shiawassee Rd. (Residential- Apartments) Security Latch was pried off. Victim stated her basement storage locker was broken into sometime between Tuesday May 24, 2016@12:00pm & Thursday May 26,2016@11:00pm. Entry was gained by prying off the security latch. No suspect information. Misc. items were taken.
05/27/2016 12:29am 21000 W Nine Mile Rd. Lockbox was removed from the front door and the key was removed from the lockbox. (Door handle was damaged) Tips: Let trusted neighbors know if you are not going to be at home Be cautious about who you let in your home for service and repairs Contact the Southfield Police Crime Prevention Bureau for a free home security inspection (248) 796-5409 Officers responded to alarm activation at the residence. Officers arrived and found the front door unlocked. Officers checked the interior of the residence and found nothing disturbed. It appears that the suspect(s) removed the lockbox and the key from lockbox, entered residence and were scared off when the alarm went off. Victim states the residence is under renovation and this is the third time someone has broken into the residence. There was no alarm system on the residence for the first two Home Invasions. One incident was on 03/01/2016, where a stove and misc. items were taken. Victim parked and locked her 2008 GMC Envoy Dark Blue In Color in the parking lot on the west side of the Office Building. Victim returned to the parking lot at 6:00pm and discovered her vehicle had been stolen. No suspect info. Officers were dispatched to the 18000 Block of Midway reference the recovery of a Fail to Return (Stolen) Rental Vehicle at that location. On Star tracked the vehicle to this location. Officers located and recovered the vehicle. There were no occupants in the vehicle. Officers made contact at the residence. Suspect information was obtained from occupant at residence. Incident is under investigation.
05/27/2016 5:30am 19000 Hazelhurst St. Status SR - Both Stolen And Recovered Manufacturer MERCURY Model GRAND MARQUIS Color BLK - Black Vehicle Year 1993 Body Style State MI License Year 2016 Description 1993 GRAND MARQUIS Recovered Date/Time 05/27/2016 6:30pm Witness states his neighbor was letting his dog out around 5:30am and observed a young B/M driving a White Dodge Neon stopped in front of his house. The driver of the vehicle got out and put his hood up. He then put his hood back down and started up his car. He drove around the block and parked in front of victim s house. Witness stopped looking at the suspect vehicle for a minute. When he looked outside again he saw the driver of the White Dodge Neon driving away in victim s Grand Marquis. The vehicle was recovered by MSP. No details of recovery at this time. (Motel) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer CHEVROLET Model SURBURBAN XL Color MAR - Maroon or Burgundy Vehicle Year 2005 Body Style State MI License Year 2016 Description SUV Victim states her vehicle was stolen by a subject known to her on Sunday May 29, 2016 @ 1:00am. Suspect took her car keys & vehicle while she was in the bathroom. He did not have permission to take her vehicle. Victim called suspect on the phone and demanded the return of her vehicle. He has failed to comply. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. R/P (reporting party) states two 2016 Chrysler Town & Country were attacked sometime between 4:30pm and the following morning at 8:45am. Victim states sometime between 5:00pm and the following morning at 7:00am someone entered vehicle by unknown means and took the vehicles Navigation System. From: 05/24/2016 10:30pm To: 05/25/2016 9:00am 16000 Hardin Circle Wallet & Laptop Computer were taken from victims 2015 Mazda 3. Victim states sometime between 10:30pm and the following morning at 9:00am someone gained entry into his vehicle by unknown means. Victim states sometime between 05/23/2016 @ 12:00pm 05/27/2016 @ 8:00pm someone cut the catalytic converter off his 2005 Jeep Liberty. No suspect info. Victim states sometime between 10:00pm- 11:00pm someone took her purse from her vehicle. Entry was gained through a partially open rear window. Note: One of the credit cards in victim s purse was used to make a fraudulent purchase at a Wal-Mart in a neighboring community. @11:16pm. Be on the Look Out Highlights: Assault With A Dangerous Weapon, Felony Firearm and Careless Discharge or a Firearm Causing Injury. 05/21/2016 10:51pm 16000 Block of Lincoln Dr. (Middle School) A large group of youths gathered at location for a fight between several females from two different schools. At some point during the fight two B/M subjects were observed shooting into the crowd with handguns. Two subjects were shot and were taken to hospital. Both victims sustained non- life threatening injuries. Two subjects have been identified. One suspect is in custody. Felonious Assault with a Knife- 1- Arrest 05/23/2016 2:07pm Telegraph Rd. & W Nine Mile Rd. Officers were dispatched to the area of Telegraph and Nine Mile Rd. for a report of a stabbing. Victim (motorcycle) and Suspect (motor vehicle) were s/b on Telegraph Rd and got into a traffic altercation. When both vehicles were stopped for the red signal at 9 mile & Telegraph victim pulled his motorcycle up to suspect s car and started hitting the car. Suspect got out of his vehicle and pulled victim from his motorcycle and both started fighting. Suspect (vehicle) at some point pulled out a knife and stabbed victim (motorcycle) in the buttocks and leg. Several witnesses stopped and broke the fight up. Both the victim and suspect drove to a nearby Gas Station. Police arrived and the driver of the vehicle was arrested for F/A.
OWI- 1- Arrest 26711 Northwestern 10:48pm Officers were sent to location on a report of a one car crash. Upon arrival Officer s found the crash and the driver. The driver was investigated for OWI and subsequently arrested and lodged. OWI- 1- Arrest Northwestern & Lahser Rd. 10:06pm Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at the location. Officer made contact with the operator of the vehicle and suspected that he was intoxicated. An OWI investigation was conducted and the subject was arrested for OWI. OWI- 1- Arrest Northwestern & Franklin Rd. 10:29pm Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at the location. Officer made contact with the operator of the vehicle and suspected that he was intoxicated. An OWI investigation was conducted and the subject was arrested for OWI.
A&B/ Resisting Arrest- 1- Arrest 05/23/2016 6:01pm 21000 Block of N Hidden Rivers Dr. Officers were dispatched to the 21000 Block of Hidden Rivers N. reference a domestic dispute between mother and daughter over a 6 year old child. Officers arrived on scene, were in the process of conducting their investigation when victim s daughter attacked her and started hitting her several times. When Officers attempted to break up the fight and take daughter into custody she resisted arrest and was verbally abusive towards Officers. The daughter was taken into custody for A&B/ Resisting Arrest. OWI- 1- Arrest Inc.# 16/21609 Nine Mile Rd. & Telegraph Rd. 12:30am Officers were sent to location on a two vehicle crash. Upon investigating the crash it was determined that the driver at fault had been consuming alcoholic beverages. The driver was investigated for OWI and subsequently arrested.
Home Invasion (Vacant Residence) - 1- Arrest 05/27/2016 4:05am 23000 Block of Lahser Rd. Officers were on routine patrol when dispatch advised Officers that a citizen was following an unknown dark colored vehicle, observed the occupants of the vehicle break into an abandoned house in the 23000 Block of Lahser Rd. and steal the hot water tank. R/P stated he followed suspects into the neighborhood of Stahelin & Nadol. Officers responded to this area and located suspect vehicle traveling s/b on Avon towards 8 Mile Rd. Before the vehicle got to 8 Mile Rd the passenger jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot into the neighborhood. Additional Officers responded to the area to assist in locating this subject. The suspect vehicle was stopped and the driver was taken into custody. It was later learned that the driver and the suspect that fled broke into residence in the 23000 Block of Lahser (Under Renovation) and stole the furnace and hot water heater. The driver was arrested for Home Invasion and Obstruct Police. (Gave False Identification) It was later learned who the second suspect was. He is still at large.
