Itinerary Cambodia Retreat 2018 (Note: Included meals B = Breakfast, L = Lunch, D = Dinner) DAY 1 (Sunday) D * After settling at the 4-star Royal Crown Hotel and Spa from Siem Reap International Airport, the group will meet each other for a briefing and a fabulous degustation Khmer BBQ dinner down the road in the French Provincial Quarter of the city. DAY 2 (Monday) BL* The group will be transported by minibus to the World Heritage area of Angkor Wat. After obtaining a photo pass to enter this unique location, there will be a tour of the temple and grounds. A picnic lunch will be offered as well as an introduction to Qigong beside one of the lakes that line the temple walls. Perhaps a splash in the hotel pool on return, before exploring the Pub Street restaurants and clubs. 3
DAY 3 (Tuesday) BL* A day tour of the outer temples will take your breath away through villages and jungle. Have your camera ready for this day with so many breathtaking scenes within temple walls. Enjoy a wonderful refreshing lunch at a roadside restaurant. A short wander to the local Night Markets might be worth it, or take a rest at the hotel through the evening. DAY 4 (Wednesday) BD* After two days touring, this will be a day of free time to rest and relax. Perhaps discover the Old Market area of the city. A one hour tour of the city will be available by Tuk Tuk as well as a Khmer foot or back massage at the Royal Crown Spa. These will need to be booked at the daily briefings on the rooftop at sunset at Happy Hour. 4
DAY 5 (Thursday) BL* Following a fresh buffet breakfast at the hotel, there will be a half day tour of the Artisans Angkor Silk Farm and Craft workshops. You will witness local talent making the items on sale at the Artisans shop where you can buy refined stone / silver products and silk clothing to take home. This will be followed by a light lunch at a city café. You will have time today to explore the Old Market and perhaps gather some gifts for loved ones and friends. That evening will be a trip just out of town to the Phare Circus, where you will witness amazing acts from local performers. There will be time to have a snack at the Circus café before being seated. 5
DAY 6 (Friday) BL* After a late night, it will be a late start to tour the National Museum and enjoy a group lunch at a nearby Khmer Restaurant. This will be followed by a trip to the Cambodian Cultural Village to see an array of shows and presentations displaying Cambodian culture, dance and traditions. You can be dropped off by the minibus in the city to wander Pub Street for a late-night dinner. DAY 7 (Saturday) BD* Having been given some options for this day, you would have decided to take a third day touring the temple areas, or enlist in the Canopy Adventure on a high wire ropes course in the jungle, or discover some morbid history when Cambodia was invaded by the Khmer Rouge by a visit to the War Museum, Landmine Museum and the remnants of Killing Fields. There are plenty of other spots around Siem Reap and our resident minibus driver will be take you wherever you want to go. A final group dinner will be held at the Café Indochine a surprise of local and Asian smorgasbord of delicacies in candle light perched above the vintage car at the main entrance! 6
DAY 8 (Sunday) B After a magical week, it will be time to lap up the hotel and city surrounds before checking out and heading back to the airport to fly home or venture on your own to another location and further your holiday Note: * denotes that the meal is included in the price, excluding all beverages. Please note: CHOICE OF DATES: There are two separate retreats on the dates advertised that could take place depending on the numbers. Numbers will be strictly limited to 12 persons per tour. You can state your preference for which tour dates, however there is no guarantee that both tours will proceed. Dates will be confirmed before 24/12/2017, the final day of the Early Bird discount. AGE LIMITS: The retreats are designed for persons aged 18 years and older. If you wish to have a young person of high school age join you on the retreat then this is possible. You will need to share a room and accompany the young person during the retreat. There is no upper age limit, however due to the nature of the trip, all participants must be in good health and able to walk and climb steps independently. VISA REQUIREMENTS: Siem Reap, Cambodia can be visited by a single-entry tourist visa, for Australians, which can be paid upon arriving for US$30 with a passport sized photo. It is a 30-day visa if you wish to extend your stay in Cambodia. IMMUNIZATIONS: Although there is a low risk of transmission in Siem Reap, it is recommended that you are vaccinated, prior to the trip, for Typhoid, Hepatitis A/B, and Tetanus. It is also suggested that you take Malaria prevention antibiotics prior to flying and then one month after returning. WAIVER & INSURANCE: All participants in the retreat must sign and return the Waiver of Responsibility form and take out Comprehensive Travel Insurance for the duration of the retreat. Please ensure that the insurance covers medical and accident expenses including medical transportation home, if required. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: Each day on the retreat there will be a short morning meditation session on the hotel rooftop prior to Breakfast. The group briefing on the hotel rooftop prior to the evening program around 5pm to 6pm. The group briefing will include debriefing the day s events, some mindfulness activities and preparatory work for the coming days.
