At Y camp, we are here to make your kids feel welcome and to help them quickly realize this is a place where they belong and can be themselves...try new things...learn new skills...make new friends...and be a part of something great. A camp experience can be a powerful tool for personal growth. This is why we strive to offer the highest quality camps with the most diverse opportunities. We put a lot of effort into creating a fun, safe environment by carefully selecting staff through screenings, background checks, and thorough trainings (including first aid, CPR, risk management, character building etc.) Our staff are of the highest integrity, personal and spiritual maturity, and are enthusiastic about camp. Please bring backpacks to camp that contain the following items: Swimsuit & towel Water bottle Bug spray Sunscreen Plastic bag to hold wet swimsuit Gym shoes (no sandals or flip flops) Label your child s name clearly on everything they bring to camp. Please send a packed lunch with your child in August. (no microwaveables, please). For the safety and protection of all children, please do not allow your camper to bring personal items such as electronic devices, cell phones, sharp objects, or anything that could be considered a weapon to camp. Campers are expected to keep track of their own belongings and respect the property of others. Any items found in a camper s possession that conflict with the YMCA s Code of Conduct will be removed by Y staff. The Code of Conduct can be found at fwymca.org. ACCOMPLISHMENT While being away from the routine back home, youth have a chance to learn new skills and develop confidence and independence by taking on new responsibilities and challenges. They will celebrate success and learn from mistakes.

Consider sending your child to Camp Kekionga this week. CAMP KEKIONGA (Hodell Acres) 6:30am - 6pm 3135 Elmhurst Drive Fort Wayne, IN 46809 Transportation options: You may drop off your child at the Central Branch YMCA (1020 Barr Street) between 6:30 & 8:15am We transport your child via Fort Wayne Community School bus to Camp Kekionga. You may drop off your child at Camp Kekionga between 8:45 and 9am & pick up your child at camp no later than 3pm. Any child remaining after 3pm is transported back to the Central Branch YMCA where you may pick him/her up between 4 and 6pm. Glenwood Park School and Camp Kekionga Cost: $110/week YMCA Members $130/week Program Participants Ages: Entering Kindergarten through 12 years old Lunches: Provided June, July Activities: Outdoor games, sports, nature hikes, outdoor education, creative arts and various other fun activities. Weekly field trips include roller skating, bowling and swimming. BELONGING Summer camp is an unforgettable experience where kids feel safe, welcome, and free to express their individuality.

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT) PROGRAM: 6:30am - 6pm 3135 Elmhurst Drive Fort Wayne, IN 46809 This counselor in training program includes training in first aid, CPR, child abuse prevention, team building skills, leadership and more Upon passing the training program, CIT participants will shadow counselors and then join a group of campers to assist in everyday camp activities C.I.T. WEEKLY THEMES Week 1: Y Spirit (June 8-12) Let the Games Begin! -Join us for a week of nonstop action as we get moving and grooving. Teams will create banners, songs, cheers, and mascots to show their camp pride! This week will be all about getting to know each other and making new friendships that will last a lifetime. Week 2: Harry Potter Party (June 15-19) Calling in Muggles and Harry Potter fans! Practice Quidditch, find your perfect wand, let the Sorting Hat choose your house, cook up and study some perfect potions. Week 3: Creepy Crawlies (June 22-26) Take to the air with the animal kingdom s smallest flyers, and journey deep into the dirt with the help of some slimy guides. When you find something interesting, you can collect it, identify it, and if you like make a mini habitat for it. Observe the world from a bug s perspective.
Week 4: Hawaiian Hullabaloo (June 29-July 3) *No transportation for Kekionga July 3, camp is at Central branch Y all day. Join us as we heat things up this summer, Hawaiian-style. Bring your leis, grass skirts, Hawaiian shirts, and coconuts for our Hawaiian Luau dance. Prepare to learn about Hawaiian culture, traditions, foods, and language. Week 5: Fruit of the Spirit (July 6-10) We are bringing Vacation Bible School to Summer Camp! The campers will be learning about the love of Jesus through songs, crafts, skits, character development, and games. Week 6: Jedi Training (July 13-17) Greetings, Initiate! Don the Jedi robe. Recite the Jedi Code. Close your eyes. Feel the Force. Become the Jedi. Deflect laser bolts, battle with light sabers, and use your mind powers to fulfill your destiny. If you love Star Wars, then you definitely belong in this week of camp! Week 7: Mad Scientists (July 20-24) Join us this week to prepare fun and messy science experiments! Science and imagination join forces this week as campers experience forming hypotheses, testing theories, and drawing conclusions about the natural wonders of everyday life. Week 8: Do you Want to Build a Snowman? (July 27-31) Want to beat the heat this summer? Then join us as we take a journey to the Arctic Circle during camp. This week will be filled with icy activities, snowy crafts, and games about snowmen. Week 9: Play it Again... (August 3-7) *Glenwood closed this week As we say goodbye to our friends and reflect on the great summer we spent together, we are bringing back all of your favorite games, crafts, songs, etc.! Help us send summer off with a bang and welcome the new school year with excitement and goals to get started on the right foot.

If payment isn t t received on time a late fee will be assessed. I will be paying by automatic draft.
