ITINERARY DAY 1: DEPART Fly through the night to Paris, capital of France. DAY 2: PARIS Bienvenue en France! Meet your Forum Tour Manager at the airport in Paris. Transfer by private motor coach to your Paris hotel and drop off your bags. While in Paris, travel as the locals do - by foot and metro! This afternoon, stroll down the Champs-Elysées, the most famous avenue of the capital, and climb to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. Enjoy dinner with your group at a local restaurant. DAY 3: PARIS CAEN BAYEUX After breakfast, board your bus to the Normandy region. Stop in Caen and visit the Mémorial de Caen. Learn about World War II history and the events of D-Day Landings in this museum dedicated to peace. Have some free time for lunch. Continue to Bayeux and visit the Tapisserie de Bayeux, one of the greatest medieval artworks. It depicts the story of Harold, William the Conqueror, and the Norman conquest of England in 1066. Then, check in at your hotel and take a minute to freshen up. Dinner with your group at a local restaurant. Night accommodation in Bayeux. DAY 4: BAYEUX ARROMANCHE ST. MALO After breakfast, board your bus and visit Arromanche 360 Circular Theater, which dominates the remnants of one of the two artificial Mulberry harbours set up by the Allies. Continue to Coleville-sur-mer. During a private service, pay tribute to the 9,386 fallen Americans at the World War II Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial and lay a wreath of flowers to honour their memory on behalf of your school. Stop to see the Pointe du Hoc Ranger Memorial, commemorating the heroic raid of the American Second Ranger Battalion and the forces involved in the Normandy landings. This afternoon, continue to Saint-Malo, a town famed for its seafood specialities. Later, check-in at your hotel and head to dinner at a local restaurant. Night accommodation in St. Malo. DAY 5: ST. MALO MONT SAINT MICHEL LOCHES Today, drive to the 1000 year-old Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel. This masterpiece of architecture rises from the rock and is surrounded by sea and sand.
ITINERARY After free time for lunch, board your bus to the Loire Valley. Drive to the medieval town of Loches for dinner and night accommodation. DAY 6: CHENONCEAU CHARTRES After breakfast, discover Château de Chenonceau. Remarkable for its architecture and history, it is also known for its fine quality of collections. Explore the gardens and maze, rebuilt exactly from Catherine de Medici s plans. Enjoy lunch at La Cave aux Fouées, a caveman themed restaurant (subject to availability). After lunch, get ready to discover the natural and cultural heritage of the Loire Valley on the last wild European river while riding on Kayak! Continue to Chartres for dinner and night accommodation. DAY 7: CHARTRES PARIS After breakfast, go on a walking tour around the historical centre of Chartres and discover the picturesque streets of ancient half-timbered houses and old bridges. Meet your local guide for a visit of the impressive Chartres Cathedral. With 2,600m² of stained glass lighting up the heart of the nave, this monumental building is a model of gothic architecture. Next, visit the Centre international du Vitrail and attend a stainedglass workshop! Learn about the different stages of designing stainedglass and the techniques of medieval and contemporary stained-glass artists. In the afternoon, board your private bus to Paris. Check-in at your hotel and head for dinner in a local restaurant. DAY 8: PARIS This morning after breakfast, enjoy a stroll with your Tour Manager and see Place Vendôme. Continue your walk through the Jardin des Tuileries. Then, visit Le Louvre. One of the world's great museums, it houses the finest European painting, sculpture and objets d'art from the Middle Ages to the beginnings of Impressionism. This afternoon, admire the view from the third floor of the Tour Eiffel on Le-Champs-de-Mars Square. Back on the ground, have some free time at Trocadéro Square before you board a glass-topped Bateau Mouche. Enjoy a refreshing cruise on the Seine. Dinner with your group at a local restaurant. DAY 9: PARIS After breakfast at your hotel, visit the magnificent Musée d'orsay and its extensive collections of 19th and 20th century paintings, sculptures, architecture and literature.
ITINERARY This afternoon, explore the Île de la Cité. On the way, make a stop at the Pont des Arts. Then, visit the Gothic Cathédrale Notre-Dame, a magnificent religious edifice and one of the supreme masterpieces of French art. Climb the 387 steps to see the gargoyles! At a short distance, visit the Sainte-Chapelle, another Gothic masterpiece. Then, explore the lively Quartier latin with your Tour Manager, where some of the most famous XIX century s writers sat at the cafés. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant in the area. DAY 10: VERSAILLES Enjoy breakfast with your group at the hotel. Today, take the RER train to Versailles. Discover the Château de Versailles; the extravagant Palace built for the Sun King. Walk in the footsteps of Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, and Presidents Jefferson and Wilson. Spend some time discovering the elegantly landscaped park. Later in the afternoon, return to Paris and head up to the highest point, Montmartre (known locally as La Butte). Climb the steps to reach the Sacré-Cœur, Montmartre s hilltop church and most famous landmark. Enjoy dinner with your group at a local restaurant. Overnight accommodation in Paris. DAY 11: PARIS Today, learn how croissants are made at a local Boulangerie. Next, take a guided tour of Opera Garnier. Discover the mythical sites and secret spaces of the Palais Garnier: the Bassin de la Pythie, the Grand Stairway and the Foyer de la Danse. The remainder of the day is free to catch up on last minute souvenir shopping or to discover the city with your group at your own pace. Enjoy a farewell dinner in a local restaurant. During, you will be asked to provide contact information, a valid passport number, and method of payment. If you do not have a passport yet, don t worry you will still be able to enroll.
