LASIK Fixation Ring H-7200 Krumeich LASIK-Suction-Ring Outer Diameter: 18 mm Inner Diameter: 11 mm Marking on 0, 90, 180 and 270 LASIK-Suction-Ring to avoid aberrations The appearance of higher-order aberrations (HOA) seems to be a common and not avoidable and unwanted result during LASIK procedures. The induction of such, not previously detectable HOAs, does not dependent on whether a mechanical microkeratome or Femto - laser was used to cut the flap. It accrues by using Excimer-lasers with 200 Hz, as well as with the latest models of 500-700 Hz. HOAs appear when saccades of spontaneous rapid eye movements are reported during the operation. These movements should be compensated by the Tracker, but according to several tests of Dr. Krumeich, the only reliable method to avoid HOIs is a mechanical fixation of the eye. The fixation with the Krumeich suction ring does not increase the intraocular pressure. In this respect, also the blood supply is not stopped or a Venous Stasis is not caused. A fixation ring which is built according to the principle of the Barraquer increases intraocular pressure to approximately 60 mmhg and stops the blood flow for the time of the intake. Such a ring is not suitable for fixation. The Krumeich Suction Ring has a inner diameter of 11 mm, so that it doesn't bother the trace of the laser. The ring is placed after creating the flap and manually fixed with vacuum of 400-600 mbar.
